'Knights! Single file! Knights at the rear, guard the entrance!' shouted Arthur, his voice echoed down the cave. Everyone was moving slowly down the cave, but so far, in the first few feet of it, there were no monsters of any kind. Despite this Arthur was clearly getting increasingly nervous. He was moving very tentatively down the cave, and as he was starting to get nervous, and so were the other knights.
After walking closer into what looked like a pit, the garrison was suddenly attacked by a load of what appeared to be giant bugs. Arthur just ran into cover and tried burning them to death using his fire spells. However some of the bugs attacked the knights and bit them once they were able to climb onto them. Once that happened the infected knights transformed into hideous zombies and started attacking Arthur.
After all of that happened the newly formed zombie knights and the unaffected knights started attacking each other, while Arthur was panicking and tried to run away from the lair, though the knights were blocking the way, and so he needed to simply calm down. He noticed that the infected knights weren't attacking him and were too busy trying to fend off his own knights, and so he brandished his sword and started attacking them all from behind. This gave his knights an advantage and so they were able to defeat the knights that had been infected. With those knights defeated, Arthur had a look at their bodies. He noticed that they all had a green goo on them, just like the monsters guarding the lair did.
'I'm going to hazard a guess that the bugs were what created the zombie creatures here to begin with' said Arthur, though he had to be cautious to avoid the possibility of him being bitten and turning into a zombie himself. He and the knights, of which had been cut down by nearly half, continued their journey into the cave.
As Arthur was walking he decided to stop and have a look at one of the bugs that had been killed. It was a white, leech-like creature with many legs, roughly twelve each side, and they were very thick, too. It had a green glow once light shone on it. Also it had that green goo dripping on it's mouth. Arthur appeared to be a bit unnerved out by it's appearance, but moved on after looking at it for about ten seconds.
As they walked down the cave, there was an entire nest of those bugs. Not only that, there was a great big bug around it. Once Arthur saw it, he shouted:
'Oh my lord! look at that...' while being paralysed with fear. The bugs immediately noticed him and tried attacking him. Out of panic Arthur tried slashing all of them with his sword, which actually worked. He saw one of them move past him, towards the other knights, and immediately squashed it.
The only bug left was the great big one. Arthur was pretty intimidated by it, though he decided to simply throw a fireball at it. The giant bug was hit by it, though it didn't affect it too much. Arthur decided to move closer to it, and started hacking away with his sword nervously, though that didn't do too much to it. The other knights started getting closer to the bug as well. One of them was carrying a hammer, took one swing of it and crushed the bug, killing it instantly. Arthur then stood there, taking a moment to catch his breath again.
'What? You're not going to thank me?' asked the knight who just killed the giant bug.
'Thanks, I'll never be the gargantuan you are' replied Arthur. That knight and the rest of them didn't seem to appreciate what he said. Nevertheless they carried on deeper through the cave until they noticed a huge stone door. It was circular and had very weird symbols all over it. It showed signs that it had already been opened.
'Don't tell me you want to go inside that thing?' one of the knights groaned..
'I feel that my job cleaning up these zombies and whatever is not finished, so, I think I must' said Arthur, who looked a bit tired at this point.
Arthur pushed the door to the left of which caused it to roll in that direction. He moved into the space slowly, along with the other knights following. Though suddenly, for whatever reason, the door rolled back into it's place, locking Arthur and about eight of the other knights in.
