"There there, it's okay." Leo says comforting Lia, slowly patting her on the back.
They sit in silence for awhile until Lia eventually breaks the silence. "We should probably go down for dinner." Lia whispers with a heavy sigh.
IN THE DINNING ROOM...
As they enter, it's easy to tell that Lia's family was waiting on them again*, as her entire family is seated at the table and staring intently at the two.
"Sorry for being late." Lia and Leo say at the same time, politly apologizing for their behavior and bowing.
"It's okay, come sit." Lia's mom replies sympathetically.
They sit down, doing as they were told. The food has already been put out at the table. Everybody puts their heads down and then after a minute, Leo decides to do the same. "Why are we doing this?" Leo whispers to Lia.
Lia responds also whispering."We do this to honor our grandma and grandpa, because they died today."
"Oh...can you tell Layla I wanted to say thanks." Leo says and looks down at the floor.
"Yeah, she's here next to me." Lia responds.
"Um, sure. Thanks." Leo replies.
Lia looks away from Leo and towards Layla. "Hey Layla, Leo wanted me to tell you thanks." Lia whispers to her.
"Oh," She pauses before continuing. "Okay." Layla replies as everyone lifts up their heads.
Everyone begins to eat on the food. It was prepaired especially for today. "Wow, the food is so good!" Leo says, interupting the silence of the dinning room. Lia looks over at him, he is half biting into a leaf-wraped sandwich and chewing with his mouth half open. In the elven culture it's very rude for anyone of the age of five to do this.
"Jeez, Leo... the least you could do is chew with your mouth closed. It's not like it would hurt you." Lia says with sarcasm, rolling her eyes.
