The kraken raged through corridors, hunting all who disturbed its domain with single-minded fury. Its colossal form tore through durasteel like cloth, scattering debris under razor talons.
Jake and Sam raced to aid others under assault, but progress was stalled by cascading collapses blocking paths. They doubled back to retrieve cutting tools, racing against the clock.

Elsewhere Stacy emerged into the reactor chamber shocked by the leviathan's size. It dwarfed even the cavernous space, a nightmare from a deeper abyss. She rushed to aid Monica and Ryan attending Dorian's wounds while the kraken circled, searching for an opening to finish them.

Stacy grabbed a welding torch. “Draw it to the east wall - I have an idea!” As Monica and Ryan dragged Dorian clear, she ignited blinding flames across condensation-slick grates. Vapors ignited in a torrent of superheated steam.

The kraken shrieked, flailing against the scalding veil as Jake and Sam burst through at last with cutting gear. “Cap, the turbines - now!” Stacy cried.

Jake raced towards ancillary controls, fighting ruptured pipes spewing noxious fumes. Below, the kraken surged through roiling steam, blinded yet sensing its quarry.

Stacy rallied Ryan. “The central shaft - break the lock!” As Ryan hacked encryption with blistering speed, Stacy grasped Dorian. “We’re getting you out of here!”

Monica assisted their retreat as Ryan’s skills overrode final securities. Ancient turbines shuddered, gears grinding back to purpose under Jake’s coaxing touch.

Below, the kraken stilled, sensing change in the machinery pulsing with the station’s metaphysical heart. It turned as bellows activated, drawing the mist into cyclones.

With a screech the kraken was caught in the maelstrom, cables and tentacles shredding under centripetal force. It thrashed against inexorable pull, being dragged into depths where even its lineage had never delved.

It was over. Jake shut down the turbine just before its carapace could be pulled within blades as slicing as its own talons.

Silence fell but for machinery’s fading lament, and teams racing to aid the injured.
