Ember crouched at Wade's feet, who was sitting on the bench reading a book. From time to time, he caressed her. She had gotten tired of chasing the ball, over and over again, and was enjoying her well-deserved rest.

Wade was really relaxing. It was a cloudy day, but without rain, and there was a gentle wind that made reading really pleasant.

«Morning.» said a familiar voice.

Wade looked up and found Bryan and Kyle in front of him. They had their instruments with them, certainly preparing for some performance.

Ember woke up and started barking. She only calmed down when Kyle knelt down to caress her. «You missed me, didn't you?»

«I didn't even know Wade had a dog and you even know it? What did I miss?», Bryan was puzzled.

«We met in this very park.»

«Fine, but you can have fun together another time. Richard is waiting for us.»

Kyle got up. «We're going to play, do you want to come with us?», he turned to Wade.

«Alright.» he said, placing the book in the shoulder bag he was carrying. Then he stood up and picked Ember up in his arms. They could have proceeded much faster that way.

As they walked to reach Richard, Kyle and Bryan decided on the set list of songs to sing. They also gave each other advice on their parts.

Richard was already ready to play, he was practicing sitting on a wall, waiting. They hurried to reach him. They prepared the instruments, while Wade sat in Richard's place on the wall. He let Ember sit next to him.

When they started playing, Ember was almost more enchanted than Wade. She stared at them and wagged her tail happily, just like the fans who had crowded around the band.

They sang several songs and, at the end of the performance, made sure to remind the people to follow them on social medias.

When the crowd dispersed, Wade was finally able to approach.

«How did we do?» Kyle asked him as he put the guitar back in its case.

«Judging by the number of people who stopped by, I'd say pretty good. But – »

«But?», Kyle interrupted before Wade could finish his sentence.

«When will you start playing original songs? You could be successful on social media.»

«I’m working on it.» replied Kyle. «And remember, the offer to write a song together is always valid.»

They exchanged a very intense look before Bryan and Richard's laughter brought Wade back down to earth. «I have to go now.» he said.

Kyle petted Ember one last time then said goodbye to them. «See you at school.»
