They stood in line after they grabbed their trays, waiting to get their lunch.

Sohyun shifted his gaze from Hanna to him. "Get your hands off me!"

He then shoved Minam's hands away, which made Minam chuckle.

Minam said seductively, "Is that how you treat your saviour, hm?"

Keeping her eyes on Minam, Hanna glared at him and groaned, "Don't even think to hit on him!".

Minam arched an eyebrow. "Oh! Hanna, come on! I heard from your friends that you two broke up!"

"He's still under my watch!" She snarled.

Sohyun's eyes flickered between them, dumbfounded. "What the heck is going on?"

Minam cupped Sohyun's face in his palms and said, "Ignore her, cutie! Will you sit with me for lunch?"

"HEY!—" As Hanna was about to scold him, her eyes fell on Jaemin approaching Minam and Sohyun.

Jaemin was mad at Sohyun, but he couldn't ignore the fact that he was irritated by Minam touching Sohyun as he entered the canteen. Who's that guy?!...

Jaemin stepped close to them and wrapped his arm around Sohyun's shoulders as he pushed Minam with his other hand, glaring at him.
"Why are you bothering him?"

Sohyun's heart skipped a beat, and his face was reddened by his touch. Oh, my weak heart!...

He dropped his head shyly and stayed still, clutching his shirt nervously. What's with him?...

Sohyun then stuttered anxiously, "He's c-crazy! Ignore him!"

Minam pulled Sohyun out of Jaemin's grasp in the blink of an eye, whispering into his ear, "You like this guy, huh?"

Sohyun got goosebumps all over his body. How did he find out?...

Minam then backed away a bit and said with a mischievous smile on his face. "Are you sure about not being friends, Sohyun?"

Jaemin pulled Sohyun back to himself and groaned, "What the hell do you think you're doing?! He says you're not! Get lost bef—"

As Hanna couldn't tolerate the tension in the air, she smacked Minam's back and grasped his arm, pulling him away. "You come with me!!!"

"What?... N-no!... Hey!" Minam muttered as he got dragged away. This little duck!...

Jaemin pulled back his hand, and his expression turned cold again, averting his gaze.

Sohyung held the hem of Jaemin's shirt shyly and said hesitantly, "Em... Jaemin... I'm sorry about yesterday... I acted ch—"

"You two! Hurry up and get your food!" Sohyun's words were cut off by the dinner lady calling them.

Jaemin replied after a huff as he moved forward and held his tray in front of the dinner lady, "I think you misunderstood my words yesterday, but I'm used to it... Everyone has been like that ever since they found out about my preferences. However, I thought you'd understand me, and that's why I'm mad at you, Sohyun. Yohan and I are only friends just like you and I..."

Sohyun paused and stared at Jaemin, bewildered. His heart sank as he realized what he had just said.

"This is so stupid!..." Sohyun murmured as his heart throbbed in pain. He then rushed to the table where Hanna and Minam were sitting, leaving Jaemin behind, frustrated.

Jaemin tightened his grip on his food tray and stood still in the middle of the hall, feeling overwhelmed.

"Hyung! I'm sorry I was late! All the stalls were occupied for a while in the restroom." Yohan said as he approached Jaemin, breaking him from his thoughts.

"It's fine." Jaemin said and walked to one of the free tables.

As Sohyun joined Hanna and Minam, Hanna asked in wonder, "Why are you sitting here? Don't you eat with Jaemin?"

Hanna arched an eyebrow and nagged at him. "Can you swallow and then talk? I can't get what you're saying!"

Minam said after a laugh, "Angry bird is saying that he's stupid since he told him that they are friends, although it's a fact."

Hanna and Sohyun both stared at Minam, stunned by how he figured his words out. He's smart!...

Minam leaned over the table as he was sitting in front of them and said with a big smile on his face, "You can come to me if you get rejected, baby. My arms are open to you..."

Hanna hit Minam's head with her spoon and scolded him, "Didn't I warn you not to flirt with him?!"

"Ow!!!" He winced in pain.

Sohyun swallowed his bite and asked Hanna, ignoring Minam's blabbering. "Do you know this guy?"

"Hey! I told you my name yesterday! I'm not 'This guy!'..." Minam nagged, disappointment appeared on his face.

"He's in my class, and he's famous for being a playboy... He always goes for girls, but you also need to stay away from him since he's obviously flirting with you now!" Hanna informed Sohyun.

Sohyun nodded his head in realization. "I see..."

"Don't listen to her. I'm just an innocent person who likes mankind and communication." Minam said.

Minam grinned from ear to ear.

"Because we're not! And don't call me cute!" Sohyun pouted, irritated.

"We can start today then! It will be our first day!" Minam stretched his hand in front of him to shake.

Sohyun rolled his eyes. "No thanks!"

Minam lifted himself from his seat and grabbed Sohyun's wrist with his left hand; he took out the spoon from Sohyun's hand with his other hand and placed it on his tray.
Following that, he gave him a firm handshake and smirked. "Um! Nice to meet you too!"

Their jaws dropped at the same time, completely speechless.

"Woah! Your persistence is on another level! Fine! I'll be your friend!!! But if you try to make a move on me, I'll kick your ass!" Sohyun finally gave in.

"The Playboys are persistent, you know?..." Sohyun finally laughed as Hanna scoffed.

Minam snarled, annoyed. "I'm not!!! I'm wrongly accused!"

Sohyun held his hand in front of his mouth as he laughed. "Yeah! You're not, just like how penguins fly! Hahaha..."

Minam thought as he rested his chin on his palm after he leaned his elbow on the table, staring at Sohyun.

As school was over, Sohyun walked back to class alone since he had left his pencil case on his desk; most of the kids had left school already.

When he was about to go in, his gaze fell on Yohan as he had stood in front of Jaemin's desk and had leaned his body forward; his lips were pressing against Jaemin's lips while Jaemin was seated on his seat, his arms crossed and his eyes were closed, receiving it.

Sohyun's eyes twitched as he felt his heartstrings tug. He felt a surge of jealousy and sadness as he watched Yohan and Jaemin, oblivious to his presence.

He was standing in the doorframe when his vision was blocked by a palm, and a gentle voice whispered, "Come with me... You don't have to see this."

Minam?!... Sohyun wondered as he glanced back. Minam grasped his arm and dragged him away from the class.

As much as Sohyun wanted to fight back and not follow a crazy guy like him, he was exhausted emotionally. There was a sense of relief in him that Minam was taking him away from there; he could not bear watching them for even a moment.

Tears started to stream down as they headed to the rooftop. Minam closed the rooftop door behind them and said, "This is where I relax... It's the best place to–"
He paused when he noticed Sohyun was crying.

"Are you a masochist? Why do you even like a guy who makes you cry every day?" Minam asked, annoyed.

"If you can't... comfort me... just shut up!!!" Sohyun whined as he cried loudly like a little child who had lost his favourite toy to another kid.

"Waaaaaahhh... He said they were friends... Hic... B-but... I guess that bastard has the habit of kissing his friends!!!!... Waaaaah... I'm gonna kill him!!... hic... I'll send him... to the underworld!..."

Minam pulled him into his embrace and patted Sohyun's back. He then let out a sigh.
"You and your temper..."
