With the morning rising sun shining through my apartment I Rey Redsen wake up feeling the best I have felt in the past 12 years, why you ask because today is the finally the day I graduate from the tedious school life.
After all these years of lectures, labs, unpaid internships, and research papers I will finally be able to take a breather. In these past 12 years the one thing I can take solace in is the web novel I wrote during my undergrad entitled "Humanity last Battalion."
It was a novel that touched many different troupes. At its core it was magic/supernatural action web novels but it also had a touches of romance, comedy, suspense, and mystery. Maybe because it had a little bit of everything the novel was well received to a point that it got a webcomic adapt, a live action adapt, animated adaptations, and a spin off as well.
The royalties I received from the novel put me through undergrad, and graduate school while still leaving me with a lump sum.
I wrote the series as a way to flush the anxieties I faced during my first year and it started to take off when I had started graduate school, due to that I left a lot of the major decisions for the publishing and adaptations to my editor/manager at the time.
It really did help me get through the mental strain I was facing at the time, but once I completed the story I was once again put under a lot of stress with my one and only outlet gone.
["Do you want to be relived once again?"]
"Huh I must of left the tv on while I was asleep where is the remote"
As I reach for the remote I notice that the Television is already off which furthers my confusion
'Where did that voice come from?'
["if you turn to your right you could find the answer to your question"]
'Did I just say that out loud....wait to my right'
As I turned to my right I see a figure floating over my bedside with a dim glow to him, her I couldn't really tell the gender of this floating creature due to it having an androgynous human face.
Along with this human face it had long mint color hair that faded into white towards the bottom and was about the size of my pillow.
Their pupils were alternating between what I would express as the different colors you see in images of galaxies, which made them seem all the more mystical.
After blinking a few times and rubbing my face to make sure I was fully awake I asked "can you hear my thoughts?"
To which they replied "of course not your facial expression gave away what you were thinking"
That came as a surprise to me since for most of my life I have been told that my face lack emotions and my expression are unreadable; this just added to my initial thought of them being something mystical.
In order to gain some clarification I asked "what so you mean by 'relived once again'?"
The floating creature than said with a gleeful yet mischievous simile "would you like a chance to once again have a more..." The floating being looked around my room before continuing. "Healthy outlet for stress, by diving once again into the world you created."
