The class had been going on for nearly 20 minutes and everyone in the class was frantically trying to note down everything Professor Turner was explaining, well everyone except the gorgeous girl beside me, she had worn her headphones and was currently staring outside the window absent-minded. Our Professor had not commented on her lack of interest so I thought he would let her be, so I made a mental note to share my work with her after class.

"Ms.Black, since you have chosen to ignore me blatantly, it must mean you know everything about today's topic and all the formulas I just explained, so please make your way to the front of the class and solve equations 1 and 2 for the class"  The whole class paused and turned to look at the girl in question, she was still staring at the window and it seemed like she was going to ignore Profesor's demands but then she let out a loud sigh, got up and began making her way to the front of the class, all while still bopping her head to the song blaring in her headphones. Everyone watched in silence as she picked up a marker and began solving the first equation, the soft thump of her music could be heard throughout the whole class, the keychain around her waist and the excessive amount of jewelry on her wrists clanged together with every movement she made. Every eye in the room was trained on her but she didn't seem to care, her hands moved with precision and certainty and she seemed to be in her element, and before we knew she had written her answer for both equations on the board. 

Professor Turner walked to the board to inspect Riona's work as she began walking back to her seat, but suddenly he grabbed the hood of her hoodie to drag her to his side and proceeded to yank the headphones off her head.

" Ms.Black, I don't have to inform you that your workings are flawless but I will not tolerate you acting like a brat in my class, it is the first day of class and this is not the attitude you're going to bring into this classroom.

Someone snickered out loud, causing everyone to look for the source of the noise in the relatively quiet room. I looked at the person as well and saw the girl was sitting beside that Ashton character and she seemed really smug, she was probably making fun of Riona because the teacher was scolding her in front of the whole class.

I looked back at my gorgeous gorgeous girl and she looked visibly irritated. 

" Cordelia if you want to say something spit it out and say it to my damn face" Riona stared down at the girl whose name was apparently Cordelia and waited for her response, the whole was looking between the two to see if anything would happen and it seemed like the Ashton girl was going to say something but then the Professor cleared his throat to gain everyone's attention.

"That is enough distractions from you all. Riona since you clearly find my teachings uninteresting I would gladly make it more eventful, not just for you, but for the whole class" Everyone in the class looked around in confusion and murmurs began to arise amongst the students but the Professor silenced us once more and continued speaking.  

" You all are going to do a group project, you will be put in groups of 4 so there will be 6 groups in total, I will assign the group members now, and as I announce the names I want you all to sit with the members of your group. You all have 3 weeks to complete this project and you must work on it at least 2 times a week so a sheet will be given where you all will log in what you do with the project each week with your group members"

The Professor continued explaining the group assignments but I'm pretty sure no one was listening to a word he was saying, we were all waiting for him to announce the group members. All I heard him say was the group project and then my mind went blank, I was in Riona's group, no I needed to be grouped with her.

"Alright class I'm going to call out your groups and since it is the first day of school and the projects are slightly challenging I would assign a leader to each group and the rest of the members would be under their guidance" Professor Turner had the class schedule in his hands as he spoke, something tells me he had planned all this from the beginning because he seemed to have already his groups formed, I only hope he grouped me with Riona.

"Group leaders, when I announce your name please come stand in front of the whole class so your group members can identify you. Riona Black, Taylor Smith, Emilia Thompson, and Ayomide Adekunle please come forward, you guys are groups 1-4 respectfully. Now for your members; Ashton Wellington, Santiago Hernandez, and Maisie Herriot you are with Ms. Black"

Professor Turner continued listing the group members but the whole class had gone silent, everyone seemed to be frozen in place and I had no idea
