"All you can do is watch Amaya, these are the weakest minions of the spirit of central convergence. Their patterns are simple to understand. You worked in the military, take the chance to watch their movements. Watch for their blind spots", Rafka advised as he watched Amaya intensely. A large screen appeared showing the events on Earth.
The monsters finished killing everything and started to devour. It was like they were cleaning up the mess that they made. it was chilling. The first of them started scooping the bodies out of the water and eating them. Alexandra's dress was torn and her body was heavily disfigured. Amaya watched her get put in the mouth of the monster and looked away before it could get any worse. It was too much for her. They'd been hanging out with each other two hours ago and now she was in the belly of a mutant. Rafka smiled, something about her was different.
"And the deed is officially done. I have finalized our contract", Rafka cheered. As the marking on her stomach had a gold glow. "I just needed you to agree to work with me to finalize it. Your body should begin adjusting to my powers soon enough", Rafka stated. "How exciting", Amaya stated plainly. "I know that you are down about your friend but quite frankly, it is only the beginning of your journey. This is only the start and unless you grow strong enough to prevent more deaths, you will lose a lot more", Rafka comforted.
"Is that your attempt at comfort?"
"You are about to embark on one of the most difficult journeys in existence. Comfort should be the least of your worries"
"Where exactly are we?", Amaya inquired, attempting to change the subject.
"I see you're done grieving. This infinite void is your soul or more specifically, an external version of your soul"
"What?"
"You are a unique being. The reincarnation of Voer, and Rafka's vessel. Your soul is not ordinary and therefore exists in a different plane of existence"
"Meaning?", Amaya questioned.
"Your soul exists as a black hole in a space between the mortal and heavenly realms. You can also call it your domain"
Amaya could only comprehend half of what he was saying.
"If this is my soul, then how were you in here?"
"Simple, I have a long-lasting contract with your first predecessor. Not only that but I am here to guide you through this path that you must embark on. I am a part of you and because of that, part of your humanity has been chipped away to accommodate me", Rafka beamed.
"So I was never fully human?"
"No, even now part of your humanity has been chipped away to accommodate the other gods"
"Other gods? I thought it was only you!"
Dealing with Rafka was already stressful, the thought of more gods living in her soul sounded like a nightmare!
"Oh, how flattering! There are other beings who you must make a contract with. Each step you take by making a contract leads us closer to the main goal of defeating the spirit of central convergence", Rafka reasoned.
"So, there is more work?"
" Absolutely. But on the bright side, in this place space is completely under your control. You determine the size of everything and anything. Apart from the gods of course"
"So it's basically my nation but with independent gods?"
"Precisely", the lion beamed.
Amaya didn't want to ask why exactly her body was in her soul. It would surely be a topic she had no clue about. Maybe Rafka would call it 'advanced astral projection' but she didn't want the lecturing. She wouldn't understand it at the end anyway.
"Now that you understand, let's get down to today's business", Rafka stated as a small ball floated above his hand. It looked like earth but the green grass had faded and the waters had gained a green colour instead. "Is that earth?", Amaya asked examining the ball.
"Yes"
"Why is it so small?"
"I explained this a few second ago", the lion whined.
"Space is warped?", Amay questioned.
"Yes, it is. The earth is smaller because I made it smaller. Now, eat it"
"What?"
Why was Rafka asking her to eat her destroyed planet. it was bad enough that she had failed to protect it but eating eat was another level of crazy. She was expecting weird things to happen but eating the earth? That has to be illegal somewhere!
"I will explain why eventually but for now, it is none of your concern", Rafka said tossing her the planet. She held it in her right palm. It was about the size of a plum. "I'd advise you to swallow it whole. There's a valid reason for that too", Rafka chimed.
"Care to expand on that?"
"Nope"
Amaya put the planet into her mouth and gulped it down. it scraped the back of her throat and it tasted horrid. A lot like burnt old dirty rags covered in sewage. "How did it taste?" Rafka inquired.
"Disgusting!", Amaya spouted as she held her throat.
"Good as the protector of the mortal realm, each planet you fail to protect must be ingested. It is another way to protect them. Though you may not understand that"
"There's more of that?"
"Only if you fail to protect the planet. I don't make the rules, I only pass them to you", Rafka stated in a serious tone. Amaya could tell he was getting his fun out of this.
"Now as a final note, you do have some time powers here"
"Yes!", Amaya cheered.
Even she understood the brokenness of time powers. Every comic book she'd ever picked up only emphasized why time was overpowered.
"But, they are very limited. You can set the speed at which time progresses in this place. But you can't go back in time or affect the time of other worlds"
"It seems a bit useless", Amaya groaned.
"I'm sorry that it isn't as grand and magnificent as the comic books you read. But I can't do anything about it", Rafka huffed.
"For now our time here is progressing at the same pace as Misma, The planet of order overseen by Palat, the shark spirit", Rafka stated. "Palat?"
