Once again, silence filled the air but after, his soft chuckle suddenly rang my ears and echoed in the abyss.

“What a wench,  a rarity I must say. And, what do you wager in exchange for my blessing?”

“My soul, yours to keep for the rest of eternity”

“Hmm, a whole world in exchange for a mere soul. What good is there in this offer”, I could just feel myself clicking my tongue together. He’s too disinterested to even think it through.

“Think about it, sire. Have you ever met any other soul that is like me?”

“You mean as insolent as you? Yes, I have. Unfortunately, there are many of you lot everywhere”

He’s rather talkative. I clenched my jaw in frustration. This fucker is just having his fun with me but no matter, I mustn’t waver. If I’d get bitchy now, he’ll never tolerate it and concede the deal.

“T-thank you, sire but I meant, someone as aware of how things are as I am”, after my response  another round of silence past by but I could tell that he is just waiting for me to say more but I won’t add anything else to that.

He’ll know how desperate I am and corner my intentions. He well read and judge me like an open book and I’d lose my only chance. He is lazy but he is much smarter than anyone else here, he’d get what I meant right away. If he were to get ahold of my soul, he’ll be able to have an upper hand in every play and a tool to defy against the others. They might judge him for plotting tyranny against them but with me he can simply reason that I am an defective character and he can use my lives however he want, they always give him the bad pick anyway, none of them will ever suspect. Because creating mortals with a powerful soul energy like mine, takes too much time and effort even for them and the will of agreement with all the gods.Their crafts of characters are of utmost perfection afterall. However, I am the only exception.

“Hmm. I’ll add a few exemptions to this bet of yours”

‘Exemptions?’

“One, as my character, you will not have any special attributes, in fact, I will give you a frail body. It’ll be in your care and luck to survive with it”

Of course, what did I expect. This bastard will do whatever he can to make it harder for me to do my job. This is my life’s gamble but to him it is just a mere passing commercial.

“Second, I shall beseech you trauma however and anytime I want to for… a convincing background”. Even though I’ve never seen his face without his stupid veil in front of it, I could just see him smirking smugly at me behind it as if he’s playing with a dumb child.

“Is that all?”

“That is all”

He’s making this shit not any easier than I wished it would be. But in that case, I’ll can use it against him.

“Since you have your own exemptions to our deal, I shall also add mine”

“What?”

“Firstly, I would like for  my memories to not be erased until I am able to write 30,000 words in my next life and second, you will not interfere with any of my choices in fate”

“You insolent bug”, his voice sounded cold and sour, what more could his face have looked like..

“Time is running out, your holiness, if you don’t agree with me now, I may not be able to help you with your interests and I will block you from choosing me as your character”

A soft chuckle escaped his gracious lips. “How would I even know that the character I’m choosing is indeed you,  our foresight is forbidden.”

“I’ll give you a hint of course, only if you seal this deal off”

“You don’t have any power to do that”

I smirked.

“Care to find out?”

Sigh. “Very well, I oath to this deal”

“But fail even once and this little charade of ours is over”

His voiced for the last time before it vanished and the silent of the abyss, once more graced me. With this everything is settled. I’ll be more at ease to conquer them now. They’ll see.

Seconds later, a brilliant wave of light began to swift into my direction and carried me with it. Completely blinding me and knocking me unconscious, it was time for my next life.

Another life of vengeance has began.
