Today I grieve freedom
I grieve my land and its beauty
I grieve for all those who could, who want, who try
To live in harmony
I grieve not even for me
But for everyone else
Everyone who thoughts to find
A new life, a new dawn, in my land
I grieve for those under the bombs
And under the umbrella
Of fascism
That rots their heart
I grieve for those who don’t give up
But who have nothing more to give
For those who tried and tried and failed
I grieve for those who grieve
I grieve for those who really thought
That their freedom was at risk
When those in power took away
Freedom from other beings
I grieve for those who can’t come out
Who are still forced in the closet
For those who can’t abort
Any kind of work in progress
I grieve for you, for me, for them
For everyone and their uncle
Because our world is turning to
A giant beast with tentacles
And is threatening
To swallow us all
Alive and dead
Free and in cages
Together
At the end
