Franzlie was delighted to meet her father and enjoy the company of her new acquaintance. However, she felt compelled to address the earlier incident.
"Papa, I need to make a call. I will excuse myself for a moment."
Franzlie stood up and left them at the table. Slipping out her phone in her pocket.
Arthur watched her go, then turned his attention to Drystan.
"I did not know that Franzlie is your daughter," he said. "I had thought her to be a young man earlier. I remember that today I was supposed to meet her for a business meeting regarding a company collaboration.”
‘‘However, I postponed it due to my mother being rushed to the hospital, and I know you are aware of the rest of the story."
Nevertheless, he was surprised by what he had known at that moment. Drystan smiles politely to Arthur.
Arthur nodded his head.
"Yes, I am. I am very sorry to hear about your mother. I hope she is doing better now."
"Thank you," Sir Arthur.” Dystan replied.
"She is doing much better now. But I apologize about the meeting. I know it was important for both of us. However, I can’t gamble with my mum's health.”
Drystan bows his head apologetically.
"Please do not worry," I replied. "I understand that family comes first. After all, money cannot buy you a loving and caring mother. I will have my daughter reschedule your meeting with her."
Arthur accept his apology.
"Thank you for understanding," Sir Arthur Drystan said. "I am glad to meet you and Franzlie. She is a very special young woman."
"I agree," Arthur said. "She is amazing and a wonderful daughter ."
Both of the gentlemen continued to talk for a while longer, and then Franzlie returned.
"I am sorry," she said. "Macy, informed me of my schedule for tomorrow.”
"That is good to hear," Arthur said. "But I thought we agreed that this dinner would be a father-daughter bonding experience, with no work talk."
"Good to hear that you two are getting along well," Franzlie said. Papa, it’s just the schedule and papers that she sent at home for me to sign. You know I don’t sign documents thatI don’t read the context of what I’m signing for.”
“It’s better safe than sorry in the end my dear Papa.” Franzlie answered her father dearly.
"We are," I said. "It has been a pleasure meeting you, Sir Arthur."
"The pleasure was mine," Arthur said. "I hope you can continue to do business with my daughter soon."
"It will be a pleasure doing business with your daughter soon Sir Arthur. And I swear to my mom’s name that I would give my best to work with your daughter.”
Drystan replied to the old master sincerely. They exchanged business cards, and then Franzlie and Arthur left. As the father and daughter walked to the car, Arthur said,
"I am glad you met Drystan.”
"Father, why do I have the feeling that you want me to be paired with him? Is there something that I need to know?"
Franzlie rolled her eyes and shrugged her shoulders.
"It seems like the two of you are quite close, and I'm starting to feel jealous."
She pouted and looked away as she slipped into the driver's seat.
"My dearest, it's not that I don't want to tell you, but you're spoiling the surprise."
"You are getting jealous," Arthur said with a wink as he hopped into the passenger seat.
"But I will tell you one surprise: your siblings are here, and they are part of the whole thing."
"He told me that he is the person you will be meeting in our company collaboration. Is that correct, Franzlie?"
Arthur asked his daughter.
"Yes, that's right," Franzlie replied. "But I don't know why you're so excited about it. I'm sure he's just a normal person."
Franzlie is overjoyed to have her siblings back home. She doesn't mind what else her father is saying about how they've been working hard to make their businesses stable overseas.
She is just happy to be reunited with them. She has missed them so much and can't wait to spend time with them again. She knows that they will have a lot to catch up on, but she is sure that it will be a happy reunion.
"I'm excited because I think he could be a good match for you," Arthur said. "He's from a good family, he's successful in his career, and he seems like a nice guy."
Arthur’s face lit with bliss. Yet, he knows this is just
"I don't know, Dad," Franzlie said. "I'm not really interested in dating right now."
"Well, you don't have to date him because he will be your other half in time," Arthur said. "But I think you should at least meet him and see what he's like."
"Fine," Franzlie said. "I'll meet him."
"I'm glad to hear that," Arthur said. " Probably you'll like him."
"We'll see," Franzlie said.
Franzlie started the engine and drove back to the villa. On the way, her phone rang. She immediately connected the call via Bluetooth.
"Boss, it's been done. We're waiting for your approval." The voice on the other end was stern.
Franzlie took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. "It is done," she said. "I will keep it. I will come after I have dropped my father off at home. Please entertain my guest and do not harm him."
The man nodded. "Of course," he said. "We will wait for you."
She drove to her father's house and dropped him off.
"Papa, we can talk about this later when I return. I have an urgent meeting to attend. I assure you that I will listen to you about this young man you are so excited about. As I said before, I will give him a chance. I know that you would not steer me wrong."
Franzlie opened the passenger door and helped her father out of the car.
"Just come back as soon as possible. There is something else I need to tell you. It is very important that you hear this. And you, take care of yourself."
The old man teased his daughter as he got out of the car.
She drove back to her secret base. When she got there, the man was waiting for her. The man was blindfolded and had gags in his mouth. She waves her hand to take the blindfold and the gag in his mouth.
