"Do you know him?", Rafka asked surprised. "No, I don't I just thought it was a weird name", Amaya shrugged. The earth was pretty unaware of these intergalactic gods of the human realm and frankly, it gave her a sense of peace. The earth had its own problems. She couldn't imagine waking up in the morning and hearing that the first news of the day concerned another planet's alien government. "The nation is one of the 5 most important planets that is involved in the central convergence. Its climate isn't too far from what you're used to on the Earth so it's the best place to start"
"Earth was one of the five planets, right?"
"No, it wasn't, all planets that Voer's spirit can reincarnate in can never be a part of the central convergence. I don't mean to burst your bubble but you destroy your planet in each of your lives. It would make the mortal realm unstable to put you on a planet of high importance", Rafka explained.
"Wow... what a very comforting explanation", Amaya rolled her eyes.
"I am only stating the facts. Though they may not be pleasant to hear"
"So, this planet is directly ruled over by a god?"
"Yes, and he is going to be the second contract you finalize. But the current problem is that you're weak", Rafka stated.
Amaya stayed silent trying to comprehend Rafka's statement fully.
"I do not say that to insult you. I say that because it is simply true. You have seen some of the weakest spirits and their capabilities. If you aren't able to defeat them, you won't survive a minute in Misma", Rafka explained. His eyes shut briefly.
"So what am I going to do? You said it'll take me a week to be able to use even a fraction of your power. It's been four hours"
"Simple, you must upgrade yourself"
"Like in games?"
"By upgrade, I mean acquire materials that help you access my powers faster"
"Ok, and where are these materials?'
"On the planets of central convergence", Rafka smiled.
Amaya was frustrated, how exactly was she going to get the material if she wasn't allowed to go to the planets?
"I'd suggest you meditate and work on your breathing"
"What does breathing have to do with any of this?"
"Breathing alone is useless but a breathing technique on the other hand is everything. With the proper breathing technique, you can unlock the blockades and allow my powers to flow through you freely", Rafka explained as he floated around.
"So I would get them faster?"
"Not exactly. But when my powers do come, you will be able to use more than just a fraction of them"
"So, I still have to wait for a week?"
"Yes, patience is also absolutely necessary"
Amaya groaned, she was going to be sitting around in infinite darkness doing absolutely nothing. She couldn't even manipulate her own soul yet! She sat on the floor crossing her legs and placing each hand on one leg. She closed her eyes and took deep breaths focusing on making a regular pattern. She'd seen this in countless anime and manga.
"What are you doing?" Rafka asked cocking his head to the side.
"I'm working on my breathing...like you told me", Amaya replied hesitantly.
"Really?" Rafka asked as he descended from his cloud and strutted toward her.
He put a paw out in front of her sending her flying backwards. She hit the floor multiple times before sliding to a stop. She coughed out blood and her entire body was shaking vigorously. "What the hell!", She yelled out as streaks of crimson escaped her lips.
"Pardon me. I never meant for that to happen. Do you realise what my power is?", Rafka inquired.
He examined the girl who struggled to get up from the ground. It was amusing watching her use her movie knowledge to try to thwart the coming danger.
"How the fuck does it matter", She cursed.
"I have fire abilities as well as sword combat knowledge. Strength is not my forte. That being said I am unable to wield telekinesis and I used minimal force to put my paw forward. I used less force than the minions normally would", Rafka elaborated strutting towards her once more.
"A good breathing technique strengthens your body against attacks. It allows you to withstand attacks and stops you from being easily blown away by enemies. It's called resistance to interruption"
"But you're a god!", Amaya groaned once more.
"That's not the matter. I said breathing technique, not just breathing. The technique in question is Garso's strength breathing. You breathe in for 10 seconds and hold your breath for 50 minutes while tensing all muscles throughout the duration. Once you're are able to do it, you will then be given difficult meditation poses to do-"
"Humans can't hold their breath for that long!", Amaya interrupted.
Rafka sighed. There was no time to complain. He didn't want to be the strict teacher but he was going to have to take on that role at least till she met Clorka.
"You're not human, you're a demi-god in training. You said you didn't want to wait around doing nothing. You said you were tired of being weak. Garso's strength breathing will build your resistance to interruption. After that, we'll work on combat techniques. You of all people should know that you have a lot to cover. The central convergence is in a year! And I'm afraid to say that there are barely any off days in that time frame", he criticized.
Amaya stood up ruffling her hair in frustration. She had to save an entire realm in a year! How exactly was she going to go through it all with little to no mistakes?
"You become overpowered', Rafka replied earning a surprised look from her.
"I can read your thoughts. You are going to become the strong vessel of Rafka", Rafka beamed.
