The guard leaves the prisoners room when she hears a loud bang down the corridor. Seconds later there are two people running through the smoke.
´Of course something like this has to happen on my shift. It just couldn't hit one of my annoying coworkers.`
Without losing any more time she runs after them.
She pulls out her gun, aiming for the bigger one of the two. The bullet blasts through the mans foot, who then falls to the ground. Taking this chance she runs up to them still holding her gun up high, but suddenly she hears light steps behind her.
There's no way it could be any of the other guards, their footsteps were way heavier and they would've called out for her a long time ago.
When she turns around there's no one there and behind her, where the prisoner is lying, she hears a soft voice.
"What took you so long?"
She turns back just to see a kid standing with the prisoner, whom she identified as 901. He's classified as extremely dangerous and everyone's told not to interact with him.
Next to the man there's a woman kneeling down to inspect his wound. She's kneeling in a way that it's not possible for the guard to see her face.
"You didn't knock out the guards on the way here", answers the kid out of breath.
"I hit him in the head with an iron bar, if he's still able to stand up afterwards that's not exactly my fault", the woman means still inspecting the wound.
"How about you hit harder next time, before dragging me into something like this", he says upset.
"You're talking as if I'm planning another prison break in the near future."
"Aren't you?", the boy asks annoyed.
"Not at the moment, we'll see how it goes."
That earns her a pissed of look from the boy, who's still trying to catch his breath.
Lilian's worried about her partner, but if she turns around now she'll lose her job for not detaining the criminals.
"Stop right there!"
"Does it look like we're moving to you?", asks the injuired man.
With trembling hand she takes aim at his head, but the man doesn't seem to be frightened in the least. In fact he is smiling at her, what she doesn't notice is how the woman slowly turns her head observing her carefully.
The closer she gets to them the more horror shows on her face as she notices the unconscious people lying behind them.
Fear starts creeping up in her, forming a knot in her throat. She can't seem to look away from the bodies on the ground wondering if they're even still alive.
That's when she notices something moving in the corner of her eye. The woman is walking towards her hiding her hands behind her back.
Red hair is flowing over her shoulders and piercing gray eyes are staring right at her. Lilian's whole body starts shivering under that cold unwavering gaze. She knows it all too well, what happens if you look into her eyes for too long, but she just can't look away. She's paralyzed from terror.
~What on earth is she doing here?~
That's her last thought before everything turns black as the woman jabs a syringe into her neck injecting a translucent liquid.
Slowly her senses are starting to return.
The first thing she notices is the rope that's tied around her wrists and feet. It's so tight that it cuts off her blood and her ears are ringing as if someone hit her in the head. Which isn't all that improbable if she thinks about what they said earlier.
Next to her there's the small boy from before staring out of the window. He turns around as he feels her gaze on him.
´Have his eyes always been gold and silver?`
"So you woke up as well, I was starting to get worried since you were out for more than an hour already."
"Where am I, what did you do to me? And who on earth are you?", she asks with a sore throat.
"Do you want some water your voice sounds terrible?", the boy says unfazed.
"Answer my quest-"
She starts coughing before she's even able to finish her sentence.
"I'll take that as a yes."
The boy slowly opens a water bottle and lifts it up to her mouth. She never thought that water could taste so good.
"Better?", he asks putting the cap back on the water bottle.
"Where am I?", she asks trying to sound as threatening as possible.
"You're in a car", answers the man sitting in the front seat.
His face is pale and sweat is running down his forehead. By the looks of it the bullet did its job perfectly, maybe even a little too well.
"You think? I mean where are you bringing me!", she says already fed up with his attitude.
"Can't we just put a sock or something in her mouth, she's annoying", he grumbles.
"Looks like your nerves have gotten weaker", says the woman in the drivers seat.
"Maybe they'd be better if you drove in a straight line, so that I wouldn't have to hold back my puke. Where on earth did you even learn to drive a car?", he says holding his head out of the window.
"She didn't", answers the boy trying to look straight out of the front window.
"That explains it."
"Shut it, both of you. We have a guest", the woman says looking back at Lilian with a big smile on her face.
"Please keep your eyes on the street", she says as she feels her stomach turn around.
"Fine", she grumbles offended, but she does keep her eyes on the street.
´It's strange to see her behave like this`, Lilian thinks. Normally by this point she would've thrown them out of the window for insulting her.
"I'm sorry that you had to come with us, but I just can't let you go so easily, since you've seen our faces", the woman says.
~Great, just great. First I get transferred to that gross prison and on my first week on the job I get kidnapped. Way to go, Lilian.~
"There's no need to worry Lilian, we have no intention to harm you", she says, but it sounds as if she muttered something else under her breath as well. But that isn't the biggest problem.
After years of being isolated from everyone Silas finally escapes. But now that he's free he doesn't know what to do and his pursuers are starting to close in. Will he be able to fully escape or will he lose everything while trying, even his own life?
"Who are you?", asks the confused and scared voice.
The dark being in front of him smiles at him with that horrendous smile, that he despises more than anything else.
"Can't you see it? I am you."
