Arthur then walked away from the ladder while keeping his sword in his hand. The snake monster was roaring at him constantly, but couldn't do anything since Arthur was too far away from it to be attacked. The ledge reached the other end of the temple and at the end of it was a shadowy figure, literally. It was a silhouette of a human being, it had long hair, a hat with a broad brim on it and was wearing a large cape that covered most of its body. It was very difficult to tell if this was a man or a woman, or if it was human at all for that matter. It was gazing at what appeared to be a decoration on the wall.
The silhouette noticed Arthur and brandished a sword. However it didn't move on to attack him, it just stood there with a defensive stance. Arthur then noticed a bunch of levers behind it. He was obviously wondering whether or not they were the solution to being able to escape from the temple, and so he moved towards them. However, as he got closer, the shadowy figure lunged forwards, attacking him.
Arthur reacted and blocked him using his sword. Arthur was shocked and confused, he had a wish to defeat it though at the same time, he was weary and wanted to escape the temple. Arthur started slicing at the shadow's sword aggressively and it was knocked back a bit as a result. The bugs were coming their way though and were in danger of attacking Arthur. The figure though looked scared as they approached it and started slicing away at them. It also launched a type of death field spell which killed all of them in an instant.
Arthur then had a chance to get to the levers, but then the figure noticed him doing this and ran towards him.
'Oh get lost!' Arthur yelled, though being almost out of breath at the same time. The figure didn't listen to him and cast the death-field spell on him. However, nothing happened to Arthur. The figure looked confused, and a bit amazed at the same time, as did Arthur, though Arthur looked at the necklace that Robert gave to him, which had a slight glow around it.
The silhouette then just vaulted at Arthur in total frustration, swiping away with its sword. Arthur held his sword defensively and really just let the figure hack away, he kept blocking the attacks and had opportunities to strike back, However the silhouette matched him with his abilities as a swordsman, so the fight was in a state of stalemate.
At one point of the fight the figure was tired and walked away from Arthur in order to catch it's breath, Arthur decided to pull one of the levers in order to see what they would actually do. He pulled one of them, and the green field covering the front door disappeared. He pulled the other one and the field that trapped him in also disappeared. Because of this all of the knights were able to move forward, but were rather scared when they saw the monster.
In a response to this, the knights went around the back of the cauldron, started lifting it as a group and after a large struggle, were able to tip it over. Once that happened the green liquid covered the whole floor in front of it and dripped down the stairs. The monster was lying on the floor helpless and a knight came over with a hammer and started smashing it on the head. After a few blows it's head was completely destroyed. Once all this happened the figure transformed into a bat and flew out of the temple from it's entrance. Arthur then collapsed with both relief and exhaustion.
A knight noticed Arthur up on top of the ledge and climbed up the rope ladder to rescue him. Most of the bugs had been killed, though a few did still remain. At the same time however, an enclosure at the end of the temple behind where the monster was had opened and a golden pedestal was revealed. At this point the knights were in a three-way tussle between killing off all the bugs, rescuing Arthur and examining the treasures in the temple. And because there was no real leader they were in disarray.
The knight that climbed up the ladder managed to reach the top albeit with some green bugs chasing him. Once he was at the top he turned around and sliced the bugs into ribbons. He went towards Arthur and consoled with him
'Prince Arthur, are you OK?' Arthur awoke, though he was a bit dizzy
'Do I look OK?' Arthur answered back grumpily. 'I'm sorry, I have a massive headache, and my legs are aching like mad.' said Arthur after he saw how the knight reacted. The knight then picked him up and carried him on his shoulder.
'Hey everybody! Cover me while I carry Prince Arthur!' he shouted, and then rest of the knights focused all of their attention on him and Arthur. Once the knight got to the rope ladder he stopped moving, wondering about how he was going climb down with Arthur. The knights were all lining up underneath the ladder and were shouting 'Just throw him down! We'll catch him!'
Arthur heard them say that and was really frightened, though he was obviously too tired to do anything. The knight then decided after looking down, to throw Arthur down towards the other knights that had huddled up. Arthur fell two stories into the mass of knights, and when he did all of them fell onto their backs. Arthur was laying on the ground, and everyone, especially the knight that had thrown him, were all really worried. However one of the knights noticed that he was still breathing, and so he was still alive. After all of that another knight carried him, they all left the cave and headed back to Silverwood.
