Outside the borders of Megido’s cities there’s this gargantuan wasteland which humankind call the Limbo. Life outside the cities isn’t easy, yet their inhabitant’s faith is something else. Well known among the Megido people is Limbo’s feast day. With the help of some citizens, villagers of the wasteland combine their creed and hardwork to thank the All Father for his omniscient gaze and care for his children through one more year. Well… at least they believe in this.
Amidst the badlands of Limbo stand two men near a wine-red car “We’re here.” – Says Lars. The red-haired man is wearing his signature suit and looks a bit aprehensive, specially since he’s sided with Al who’s being as extravagantly overdressed as he can be, the white one’s vision in black is carved with wings, diamonds and he exposes his chest where he bears his signature heart amulet and its gleaming swords. They’re able to view the village that holds the feast day this year in the distance from where they are “They chose a very welcoming site for the rite, I was concerned about the ambience due this being for myself, yet it looks splendid.” – States Al with a pleased tone in his voice. Lars is a very transparent person, hiding his emotions isn’t what he’s best at, so his face was flooded with constant annoyance while saying “Look, I still don’t understand why I am here with you, I’m sure I died that day. I know you’ll tell me I didn’t, but I saw it. The only reason I brought you here is to prove you wrong; this isn’t a party for you. So, take care and try not to stand out too much, even though you are already.” Al only smiles back at his companion, to a god like himself this is no other than amusing “How come such a fragile being as this human can be so daring? Proving me wrong... this child is quite entertaining.” He thinks.
When they set foot in the village, a huge festival is happening. Stalls everywhere with people selling food, beverages and clothes; musicians and dancers color the village with their art and at the center of the square rises a statue of the divine one, All Father. A group of people is leaving offerings at its feet, Al decides to take this moment to look at Lars with a smug demeanor and the human only answers with a natural displeased expression.
While walking through the feast, Al catches the people eyes, his outfit looks too expensive and he emanates this lofty aura “Is he an empyrean? What one of them is doing here?” speculated them. The festive environment left Lars at ease, he started looking at the skewers in a stall near him. Some of the delicacies were made with different types of mushrooms and pork, he then remembered, where’s the All Father? Looking around he couldn’t find him. Where did that dummy went?
“HEY!! WHAT ARE YOU TOUCHING?!” suddenly a man yelling could be heard, listening to it Lars looked in its direction and spots All Father near the statue holding some blueberries, the lofty one seems confused with the scream. Lots of people started to gather around the area and Lars runs to get there. The crowd doesn’t let him through and he keeps trying to pass. The man continued “Can’t you see? Those are our offerings!” Al looked at the fruits in his hand and then at the man answering “I can see it.” The level of absurdity and disrespect… the human in shock with the occurrence continued “Then why have you picked that? Have you lost your mind?”
Lars finally breaks through the crowd and runs to Al, he gets the fruits from his hand and put them back glaring at him. Al is astonished no one had ever screamed at him nor has dared to touch him as casually as Lars does. Lars turns to the man and asks for his forgiveness “Sir, I am deeply sorry. I lost sight of him and-…“ Not being able to finish, the human interrupts him “Sorry? What will you do if we starve or if the miasma kills more of us? Do you think being sorry will stop All Father’s wrath?” The situation is complicated; Lars doesn’t know how to answer that. On the other hand, it doesn’t seem to affect the white haired one. “Be not afraid, Koi. No harm will come to you or the others here.” He says with a gentle tone and expression, this startles the villager and Lars is just awed by All Father’s lack of common sense.
The crowd suddenly opens a passage and a mature lady enters the area near the men and approaches Koi who is still startled. “Stay still, Koi. Everything is fine. It looks like we have a distinguished guest this feast.” Al gives a slight touch to Lars hand and the redhead let go of his wrist. The lofty walks toward the woman and she continues “To what do we owe the pleasure of your visit, my lord?” Is it really him? The Limbo inhabitants are amazed with what’s happening and stand still looking at the white haired man. Al then answers “Glad to see you, Urania. I decided to come personally and proclaim my next steps as your creator itself.” Urania smiles with joy, this is such an honor. The people from Limbo have been suffering a lot since the rise of Empyrean. The constant exploration and damage to the environment has been bringing lots of misfortune to them. “Please, my lord. Come with me to the square, Koi will gather the others.”
At the square, the inhabitants unite to listen to his words of wisdom. Al and Lars are waiting for Urania. “This is going surprisingly well…” Lars comments and is answered by his companion “I told you to believe in me.” Urania comes to their meeting and explains everything has been settled and the inhabitants are ready. Al goes upfront and takes the center of the place, gazing at his creation he starts his so awaited speech “Humans, it came to me that you are being sorely tormented by the scourge. I bear the solution so I have returned to end your suffering.” His words are like water for the thirsty. The crowd celebrates every single one of them, rejoicing the end of their cruel fate. The divine keeps going “First and foremost I’ll gather the entire scourge in one place keeping you from getting corrupted.” People listen emotionally to each of his words. “Then, I’ll restart creation from the genesis, erasing everything and purifying the cores.”
The crowd celebration withers and dies. Speechless, Lars kept looking at his direction, not even him knew about it. Heartbroken, Urania questions “Wait, you really want to erase us?” All Father turns to her and explains “Exactly, yet it won’t be forever. After the purification, I intend to bring humankind back at a better place.” Koi is having a hard time and can’t believe what he’s experiencing, angry, he exclaims “Are you crazy? You came out of nowhere and tell us we’ll die?” Al takes a breath and tries to elucidate “You won’t die, I’ll deactivate you. It isn’t hurtful; it will be quicker than a blink for you.” Koi answers “Won’t hurt my ass! We have families and people we love and care!” Urania tries to step in and reason but Koi gets up and keeps shouting “You think it’s alright to come and say you’ll kill us because we're something you created? Maybe the problem isn’t the miasma but you!” The crowd gets up and starts walking towards Al demanding explanations. He looks at Lars and the man is looking awestruck at him. Suddenly, he vanishes away leaving behind a little goat with blue ribbons. Urania approaches the animal and sees a card written - Forgive me and understand. Everyone turns to Lars and the red haired quickly states “Sorry, everyone. He’s been away for too long and too many people gathered here. I’m sure he panicked, I’ll bring him back to explain.” The man escapes rushing to find where Al went.
