Void (12:00 a.m.- The Void Opening)
Void was once two separate entities; a human man, and a plasma child from the stars.
The "child" was actually a lot older than the guy because of different time passages in space…however, in the time of stars, it was young, a toddler perhaps. It resided on an asteroid in the belt of this solar system with two other children who it considered its comrades.
At some time there was a collision that broke the rock and distanced it from its only company. The piece of rock that the child floated on drifted for a while before it started getting pulled by the gravity of planets.
The rock passed Mars and hit Earth, landing in deep waters. The child was washed up by currents and creatures, unconscious through it all, and seldom picked at, as nothing understood it or could withstand it. Somehow, its form protected it from the water, unable to snuff out the heat that resided in its body.
Civilians saw it on a beach, perhaps a week or two after it crashed, flocking to it like the latest attraction in a zoo. Officials were called to check out the commotion, and when they showed up, the first thing they did was prod and poke. The child did not look remotely like anything they’d ever seen creature-wise, but was human-sized, about as large as an average seven-year-old. It simply was like a condensed star, full of light and very flammable.
The child, who'd been unresponsive, looked around. Strange beings stood and crowded it, like the walls of a crater, shielding it from the distant light of that big ball of gas so it could rest. When it realized that these things were reaching for it, trying to touch it for reasons unknown, it panicked.
A shockwave left its form, blowing back anyone within twenty feet of the wave. The child could not move, only look around in fear as the beings approached in numbers again. One in particular managed to grab it, but the child did something none of them expected: there were layers to the creature holding the star child, and when it touched an exposed lower layer, the gelatin-like light that was in the being's hands was absorbed into them.
The guy had just become the creature. He'd only meant to hold it, but it made contact with his skin, and he was falling to his knees, fighting a feeling of what he could only describe as his internal organs burning.
The child's form had broken apart and spread through this man like cancer, attaching to anything it could, while trying to figure out how to move away from this crowd of others like this one. It was taking complete control of this new form.
Officials grabbed the dying man, who's terrified and pained screams echoed across the shore and everyone watched in horror as he spat up blood, vomited, and convulsed with anguish. Whatever that creature was doing was killing him.
The man was taken to a stretcher, where they had to perform chest compressions as he became unresponsive, his skin blotchy and his eyes distant.
They never got a response.
The next time the body moved, they were sure it was witchcraft, as he'd sat up, despite the straps on his body, looking around panicked.
Trying to hold him down was tougher now, as whatever had taken over was stronger than they thought. They tried sedation but that just made it agitated, and it broke the straps of the stretcher, another shockwave leaving the body. The creature realized the extra parts it had now, could push away these vile things, and it utilized that. Shakily, it flopped off of the stretcher, blasting and pushing anyone back that tried to come near it.
Those who did manage to get a hold on it were severely burned, as the body this creature now inhabited took on its heat. It was almost like it was cooking the poor man’s reanimated vessel, but the skin never fully eroded, only developing darker spots that grew larger.
The child was using the parts closest to its vision (the arms) to pull itself across the weird, shifty ground.
It saw people using the limp parts it was dragging (the legs), to get around, away, and rush toward it, and tried to mimic that action. It took many tries, falls, pushes, and shockwaves, before it even got close to using them.
The officials tried relentlessly to keep it on the beach, even SWAT was called. They surrounded the area, watching as this thing used what they could only call a possessed body to drag itself away from everyone. SWAT was ordered to fire, bullets penetrating the feeble skin of the man this being had been trapped in.
It fell limp in their relent, but the creature was not dead. After minutes of trying to move, it understood that whatever it was trapped in could no longer work, allowing it to flow out of the mutilated, dead man.
Only to get caught by another of these strange things. Once again, they tried to prod at it, and the creature, despite knowing what happened just before, launched at its captor, sinking into its skin. This time instead of spreading, it concentrated on staying together, instead staying in the highest point of this new vessel.
This body didn’t convulse. It didn’t release sound or things from within it. Whatever layers this body had on seemed to help the creature, as it didn’t feel so caged or like it was going to explode. It stayed completely immobile, and then fell.
The child was back on the ground, and there were things all around it, aiming the same tools used to stop its other vessel. The tools made noise, the entrapment was once again littered with holes.
The creature sent out another shockwave. In the midst of the other beings’ scrambling about, making noise it could not understand, it used the other parts to try and move again. Moving was easier this time, and it crawled, yes crawled, toward what it could only hope was freedom.
The crowd around it increased, everyone grabbing for it and being pushed, kicked or blasted away as it learned quickly to keep moving. Authorities tried everything, but it seemed the creature was not affected, though it didn’t seem to be healing either.
Finally being able to use the farther limbs without flopping over, the creature tested the limits. Walking was awkward, as it was constantly attacked and put back on the ground. Eventually it would get up and move faster, and faster, and faster, and suddenly, it was doing what everyone else seemed to be doing: running.
The child escaped their bombardment through crowds of wounded officials and civilians, and ran for the hills. People who bore witness immediately joined the now ongoing hunt for this killing parasitic alien.
Nighttime had come, and well into it, civilians and officials swept the city for the monster that could be in any body around them. There were close calls, people killed and taken, and all sorts of illegal acts done on the behalf of its capture, just in the past few hours, but it managed to avoid the authorities by simply doing what everyone else seemed to be, which was panicking, running, and hiding.
Hiding in a random raided house shielded by the dark, the child looked up to the sky, through big clear but sealed over holes in the structures (windows). The stars were invisible, but it knew they were there. Overwhelming dread filled it at the thought of not being able to go back there, at being stuck here and hunted like this forever, though it barely understood what was going on to begin with, only that these things wanted to hold it, not letting go.
A month of running, and it managed to camp in a far out house. The rain of the days had washed most of the first day's evidence away, and the body's features had drastically changed throughout the time, as if becoming a whole other thing to accommodate this parasitic host. It was as if the body got an internal tan, spots and clouding tanner skin, hair becoming shades darker at the roots, like Marie Antoinette Syndrome backwards. The wounds from the first day looked like someone had taken a hot metal and burned them shut, almost adding to the spots all over the body.
The house it was in was empty for most of the time it was there, but the day the owner came home was when two stories collided.
