They make it back to the city in no time and stop at the bar that Austin and JT met up at, 'The Bent Dart.' They all park their bikes and share a few drinks for about an hour or so. JT texting with Tara in the meanwhile.
How's your day been? - JT
Work was boring. It's always the same around here. I told my coworker, Marissa about the certified broom pusher sticker and thought I would give it to her. She laughed at the thought. -Tara
You really seem to like that sticker don't you?
It was funny and it's fitting for around here.
I'll see about getting you one. Just for you ;]
Well aren't you just made of sugar and spice?
And everything nice?
I don't know, we'll see about that.
Oof. Tough crowd. Got a new sticker today as well.
Really? What's it say? Duct Life?
Drop a gear and disappear. JT snaps a picture and sends it to Tara.
Oh shit. How'd you get that?
Won it in a race.
I'm donna need deets when we see each other again. How does tomorrow night sound?
Why not tonight?
I gotta help my mom. She hurt her hand cleaning her place, so I gotta help her.
I could help out.
Adding persistent to the list.
Really tough crowd. Alright, tomorrow night. Pick you up at your place at 8?
Sounds good. See you then.
JT locked his phone, smiled, and tapped his hands on the table. Fuck. Yeah!
All the guys got up from the table and said their goodbyes for the night and everyone rode off for the night. JT looked at his watch, 11:15pm. He lit up a cigarette and took a drag from it. "This week is getting better and better." He said to himself. I wonder thought, do I really have that immortality thing God told me about? JT pulls out his pocket knife and slightly cuts his wrist lightly. It bleeds heavily. I still get hurt. Maybe I just can't die from it. I think that's what he said right? "That's probably it. Might have to just really see for myself. How am I gonna test that though? It's not like you get shot or stabbed everyday. Then again, in a big city like this, anything is possible. 'More people get bit here than there are shark attacks.' Guess anything really is possible." JT looks at his wrist and sees it's still bleeding. "Ah shit." He the wraps his wrist in a rag he has in his backpack and duct tapes it. "No need to waste good gauze for that." He says to himself before hopping on his bike and making his way home for the night.
