“Plainly, the first order of business is for Moo to put her shirt back on,” Emi smacked her fist into her open palm fiercely. “Your breasts are a bit distracting. Pleasant, but distracting nonetheless.”
“Ah,” Momo nodded, slipping her shirt back on and buttoning it up.
“The next order of business must be recruitment!” Emi declared boldly.
“It’s true,” Asami nodded. “It’s difficult to be Legion with only three of us.”
“A Legion had 5200 people,” Momo agreed. “Maybe we should make posters.”
“How do you know these things?” Emi asked, no idea if Momo was right, but thoroughly impressed regardless.
“Momo knows what Momo knows,” Momo shrugged, having trouble buttoning her shirt back up.
“Do you need some help with that?” Emi asked.
“Momo is good, thank you, Flatty chan,” Momo replied, nonplussed.
“Ok,” Emi shrugged. “So…how many people do we need for WSOEVUWTWOUAOTEIOAOM to be completely effective in our goals?” Emi asked, eyeing first Momo and then turning her attention to Asami.
“I think you meant WSOEVUTWWOUAOTIEOAOM, Flatty chan,” Momo said, blinking at her poorly buttoned blouse before starting over.
“Is that not what I said?” Emi asked, trying to go over the letters in her head.
“You said WSOEVUWTWOUAOTEIOAOM. It should be WSOEVUTWWOUAOTIEOAOM,” Momo murmured, taking her time with the lower button.
“How do you remember this stuff?” Emi asked, thoroughly impressed.
“Momo remembers what Momo remembers,” Momo shrugged, moving on deftly to the second button.
“The whole thing is really just too long,” Emi shook her head.
“I did mention that.” Asami supplied helpfully.
“Indeed, you did, Asami chan. Let’s just go with the original idea,” Emi finally shrugged. “We are the Flower Appreciation Club.”
“That is less confusing,” Asami nodded.
“While that matter is safely behind us, we still have an issue with recruitment,” Emi said, lifting her hand to stroke her chin thoughtfully. “Hmmm. What to do?”
“Before we recruit, we should be an actual club, I think,” Asami chimed in after a moment. “It’s easier to recruit that way.”
“You are 100% correct,” Emi nodded. “You have a good head on your shoulders.”
“Technically, my head is on my neck,” Asami pointed out.
“Again, solid observation,” Emi nodded. “Well done.”
“Thank you!” Asami grinned proudly. Momo raised her hand quietly.
“Go for it, Moo. What do you got?” Emi pointed to her.
“Momo has never been in a club, so she is unsure. When we recruit someone, do they have to be real people?” Momo put her hand down.
“I’m not sure what you mean, Momo. Actual people as opposed to…?” Emi cocked her head slightly.
“Momo was thinking we could write a hundred first names on paper scraps and put them in a bag and then a hundred last names on paper and put them in another bag and draw them both. Then put them together. We would have the biggest club in the school,” Momo smiled smugly.
“Not a bad idea,” Emi mused. She turned to Asami after a moment. “Thoughts?”
“Uh…I think they have to be actual people,” Asami glanced at the two of them with no small measure of confusion.
“Figures,” Emi sighed. “Good idea, Moo. Looks like imaginary people with names pulled out of a bag is a ‘no’, though.”
“Ah, well,” Momo sagged a bit. “Heck.”
“Easy with the language, girl! But, hey! It was worth a shot!” Emi smiled at Moo encouragingly. “So, absent that, any idea of which actual, real humans we can recruit?”
“Ummm…Ayaka?” Asami asked after a moment’s pause.
“Ayaka Hayashi graduated and is already married,” Momo mentioned.
“Fumiko?”
“Yamaguchi?” Momo cocked her head to the side. Asami nodded. “Married.”
“Hinata?”
“Married.”
“Junko?”
“Married.”
“Ok, ok,” Emi finally interrupted. “I’m seeing the pattern here. So, is there anyone that either of you know that is a real person, is still a student, is not married, and is not already in a club we can recruit?”
“Momo does not know many people,” Momo admitted after a moment.
“How did you know all those girls were married, then?” Asami cocked her head curiously.
“Momo hears things,” Momo shrugged.
“We have no potential targets, then?” Emi looked at them both after a few moments of long silence.
“It’s difficult since most of the students have been here for so long, and have been in the same clubs for years,” Asami sighed.
“Of course, they would be,” Emi rubbed her chin again, popping a Kit Kat into her mouth to stimulate the thought process more thoroughly.
“We could tell them we will pay them money if they join,” Momo proffered, finally finishing buttoning her blouse properly.
“Good idea!” Emi smacked her fist down on her other hand excitedly. “Loyalty can be at least rented! Once they’ve hung out with us and discovered how awesome we are and our amazing plan they’ll be hooked for sure! How much do we have in the ‘bribe others into joining the Flower Appreciation Club’ fund?”
“Momo has 7000 yen in her room,” Momo said. “It is what is left from her allowance for the month.”
“I only have 600 yen left from my government disbursement,” Asami said. “But aren’t – “
“I’ve got 25000 yen my Baa chan gave me,” Emi mused, adding the total up in her head. “33000 yen, huh? Give or take. I’m not sure how many people we could rent with that.” Asami raised her hand to get Emi’s attention. “What you got, Asami chan?”
“Isn’t everyone here rich?” Asami mentioned, putting her hand down.
“Well…yeah, I guess you’re right,” Emi scowled. “And most of them probably have family that at least tolerates them. I mean, at least long enough to sell them off to the highest bidder. Kind of puts us behind the ball, there. That probably won’t work. Damn. I was sure we were on the right path there. Ah, well, we are fat with ideas.”
“Momo is fat?” Momo looked down at herself, pressing her breasts flatter with her hands to get a better look at her belly.
“No!” Emi patted Momo on the shoulder reassuringly. “It’s an expression. If anything, Moo, you are too thin. What do you eat?”
“Momo eats whatever is in the cafeteria,” Momo shrugged. A look of sadness crossed Emi’s face.
“Well, that’s not a good sign,” She muttered.
“Shouldn’t we file the paperwork to become a club first, though, so we have something to recruit people to?” Asami prodded gently.
“Once again Asami comes through!” Emi grinned broadly. “You have a good brain box on top of your air pipe, Asami. Good call!” Asami giggled. “Tomorrow, we become the Flower Appreciation Club! Oh! This is good!”
“Momo is thrilled,” Momo nodded, clapping her hands politely, face not changing expression.
