Sam

Sam

Jan 24, 2024

Sam, a typical 17-year-old with a penchant for routine, found himself surprisingly excited about the first day of the new school year. As he navigated the familiar hallways of Lisbon High, he couldn't shake off the feeling that something was about to change, that this year might be different.

His morning began just like any other, but as he entered the auditorium for the
annual school presentation, he noticed a buzz of anticipation. Among the sea of
faces, his eyes were drawn to a girl who seemed to carry an air of mystery.

Esther.

Intrigued, Sam couldn't help but steal glances at her throughout the presentation. There
was an aura of elegance about her, an ethereal quality that set her apart from
the rest. Her eyes, filled with a mix of curiosity and uncertainty, captured
Sam's attention.

As the presentation ended, Sam decided to seize the opportunity to approach this
captivating stranger. He made his way through the crowd, weaving between students until he stood beside Esther.

"Hi there," he greeted, offering a warm smile. "You seemed a bit lost earlier. Need help finding your next class?"

Esther, still caught up in her thoughts and the mesmerizing experience of the presentation looked at Sam and smiled back. "Yeah, I'm new here. Class B, do you know where it is?"

Sam chuckled. "Funny you should ask. That's where I'm heading too. I'll show you the way."

And so, Sam and Esther embarked on a journey through the corridors of Lisbon High.
Sam, usually reserved, found himself engaged in conversation with this
intriguing new girl. He learned about her recent move to Lisbon, the reason
behind it, and the mixed emotions that accompanied such a significant change.

As they walked and talked, Sam discovered a kindred spirit in Esther. Her laughter was infectious, and her honesty refreshing. By the time they reached Class B, Sam felt a connection that went beyond the surface.

"Here we are," Sam said, gesturing toward the classroom door. "Good luck on your first day. Maybe I'll see you around?"

Esther smiled gratefully.
"Thanks, Sam. I appreciate your help. And yeah, I hope we see each other again."

Little did Sam know that this chance encounter would mark the beginning of a friendship that would transform his ordinary school year into something extraordinary. As he walked away, he couldn't shake the feeling that Esther was about to bring a new, exciting chapter into his life.

Esther and Sam are too young kids that innocently liked each other. How will they deal with their feelings when they are told that they can't be together? Are we really that different? Why isn't it OK?
