"What, do you think I know? I just told you! I dont know. " Layla said, rapidly getting annoyed. 

"Then we might as well give up, we don't even know where she is." Leo replies sadly, turning his head down. He looks at the wood colored floor. He can see the groves and lines in the rings of the tree and it reassures him slightly. 

"Well, that's inspirational." Layla says sarcastically, with a slightly raised voice. 

"We'll never do this." Leo groans, looking up sightly.

"If you dont want to go then don't!" Layla screams, her annoyance getting the better of her. 

"Wha-..." Leo stammers, but Layla interrupts him. 

"Look if you want to go sit in your room where it's safe, then go ahead! But I'm not abandoning Lia, when she needs our help! But your too much of a damn cowerd to do that, so I guess I'll do it myself!" Layla yells at him, before storming away into the flurry of snow around her. 

Leo slowly walks back to the castle, tears running down his face. He walk into the castle. Lia's mom sees Leo walking in and blocks his way, wanting to know what happened and him not to track in the mounds of snow on his boots. "Are you ok?" She asks trying to comfort him. "Here," She jestures at a wooden table with to comfy couches, then cleans the snow off Leo's boots before continuing. "Come sit and tell me everything, my dear."

"Yeah, I'm fine." He replies, ignoring her request and pushes her away. He kicks off his boots and rushes upstairs in a blur. He jumps on his bed, sobbing and crying, really regreting walking away from Lia and Layla.
