Chapter 4

If he touches her, I’ll kill him.
I glared at Brent Haines from across the crowded upscale bar in the center of the city and gritted my teeth. After he returned to the office, I had given him an un-accomplishable number of tasks to complete before the days’ end so he would stand Yeosin up.
But that asshole had returned all the assignments back to me in record time.
With her bandaged hand, Yeosin tucked some black hair behind her ear and blushed at something that he said. I tightened my hand around the glass of whiskey that I hadn’t even sipped yet and bit back a growl, so I wouldn’t cause suspicion.
They had been sitting at the bar for thirty minutes, chatting, and I couldn’t stand it.
After sipping from his beer, Brent pushed out his stool, said a couple words to her, and then headed toward the bathroom. I followed him and waited right outside the bathroom doors, this way I could catch him on the way out and keep watch of Yeosin.
The door opened, and the stench of piss seeped out into the hallway. While walking toward me, Brent straightened out his suit jacket that he had worn to work today. I stepped in front of him and placed a hand on the center of his chest.
“Mr Bates,” he started.
“Leave,” I snarled at him, attempting to keep my cool in front of everyone.
He had been one of my star employees since I started this company all years and years ago. I didn’t want to lose him, but I would sacrifice him for Yeosin who would be my wife, my mate, and the mother of my children before long.
“Oh, come on,” Brent laughed. “Lighten up. I’m here with Alana. You know, that girl from Pink Ivory that you always scare–”
“I know who she is,” I hissed out. “And I ordered you to leave.”
“We’re not at work now. You can–”
“Out.”
“Let me say goodbye to Alana first.”
“No,” I growled. “She’s mine.”
Those two words left my mouth before I could stop them. After what happened to my pack almost a decade ago, I vowed to never say those words and mean it. I vowed to only ever mate to extend my line, not for fate.
And then I had to walk into Pink Ivory.
Cursed place.
“If you want to keep your job, you’ll leave,” I said. “Now.”
“Fine,” Brent said, his happy expression gone–as it should be–and his hands up. “I’ll go.”
I waited for him to turn around and leave, but he lingered by the door as if he wished that Yeosin would turn around and see him, so he could give her a grimace goodbye. The longer he waited, the more possessiveness built up inside me.
“I’m not–”
“You should know that I invited her to apply to be my assistant,” Brent said suddenly. “I didn’t know you had a thing for her, or else I wouldn’t have said anything to her. But she was telling me that she needed a second job and I need an–”
Why did she tell Brent that she needed a job? Has she spent ten million already? It didn’t matter how many questions that I asked myself; I couldn’t wrap my head around her. It had been less than twenty-four hours since she met me in the Breeding Cave, and she already had me questioning everything. Why didn’t she quit her job today after I had given her the money?
“What do you mean that she needed a job?” I asked. “She has money.”
And if she didn’t have enough, then I’d give it to her.
My gaze traveled to the bar where she sat with her back turned while sipping on a cherry coke. Soon enough, she’d be locked away in my penthouse, walking around in a robe made from the finest of silks and her belly rounder than it ever had been.
She wouldn’t need to work. She wouldn’t need to go out on dates with anyone.
Except with me.
“She said–”
“Fine,” I growled. “She’s hired.”
Besides, it would help me keep tabs on her while I worked. She wouldn’t have to be at Pink Ivory burning her hands any longer. Her desk would be just outside my office, so I could see her through the windows.
“Now, go before I change my mind.”
After peering into the bar once more at Yeosin, Brent blew out a breath and headed in the opposite direction toward the exit. I tilted my head to watch him leave, then I followed a few moments later and waited quite impatiently for her to realize that he wasn’t coming back.
Thirty minutes passed, and she finally walked out of the bar with a coat draped over her shoulders and a frown on her face. I kicked myself off the building and followed her through the shadows toward the bus stop a few blocks down.
Before she made it to the bright lit bus stop booth, I wrapped one hand around her waist from behind and slapped my opposite hand over her mouth, pulling her into a dark alleyway and pressing her up against the brick wall.
She screamed into my palm and flailed her limbs everywhere.
“What are you doing at a bar with him?” I growled into her ear.
A moment passed, and her body relaxed. She reached up with her smaller hands and peeled away my fingers from her mouth, breathing heavily against me, almost the same way she did last night after she had come for the tenth time.
“With who?” she asked.
“Don’t fucking play around with me, Yeosin.”
She shuddered when I said her name, her cunt beginning to salivate. I breathed in the pumpkin scent, wanting nothing more than to savor it on my tongue. I hadn’t had much of a taste of her yet, but that would change. Soon.
“You were out. On a date.” I placed my hand on the brink wall and scratched my claws into it, so I wouldn’t punch a hole right through it. “You were out on a date, when you should be back in my penthouse–or our cave–ready to give me a child.”
After swallowing hard, she pressed her thighs even closer together. “Why does it matter if I go out on a date with someone or not?” She crossed her arms, but she wasn’t stiff. Oh, no, just by peering over her shoulder, I could see her try to discreetly play with her nipples. “Besides, it wasn’t a date.”
“You’re about to make me lose control,” I growled into her ear. “Compose yourself.”
Yeosin sucked in a sharp little breath, still facing away from me. “Or what?”
I wrapped my hand around the front of her throat and pulled back on it so she stared up at the waning moon above us. My canines met her neck, and I ached to sink my teeth into her to show her what would happen.
“Or else I breed you here,” I murmured against her neck. “And everyone at your bus stop will watch as you get a pussy full of my cum. Over…” I dipped my fingers between her thighs. “... and over…” I pressed them against her clit, making her inhale. “... and over again.”
A small whine left her mouth, and my dick hardened in my suit pants.
“You’ll never go out on a date with anyone again. Do you understand me?” I asked, drawing my lips up the column of her throat and to her ear. “You know the pleasure that I can give you, and I can take it all away.”
“You would do that to someone who’s supposed to be carrying your child?”
“Yeosin,” I growled, shoving my claws so harshly against the brick that it crumbled.
Where did all this brattiness come from? Had she been thinking about how she’d react to me tonight? Was she comfortable with me after one night? Was it that she had the money now, and didn’t care about the consequences? Or maybe it was that cursed thing called fate.
“Fine. Fine,” she said, glancing toward the street where the bus pulled up. “I won’t go on any more dates with Brent.” She pushed back against me and headed toward the bus. “But I have to go. I’ll see you tonight.”
