Kai was not used to getting up this early.

But that aside, today was the day they set off adventuring!

He and Marcy were stood outside the Shack, Lapras getting their morning swim in.

"Hey, Marcy?" he asked.

"Yeah?"

"How exactly are we meant to get to the other rooms?"

"OH! I almost forgot the crystal, thanks Kai!"

"The what now?"

By the time he asked what this 'crystal' was, Marcy had already legged it inside to get it.

After some rummaging noises, she emerged with a "Tada!" and a strange, shimmering gem in her raised hand.

"It's a gift from Masc that allows inter-room travel I got on my first day here! Like it?"

The name sent a small shiver down his spine.

Before Kai could answer her question, she'd began talking again.

"So the way you use it is you find a good spot, like the trunk of a big tree, and draw a doorway shape, them bam! Gateway to another room!"

"Have you used it yet?" Kai said, giving in to curiosity.

"Well, no. I'm not sure the details of how it works yet, so I've been waiting for a good moment to use it. Better safe than sorry, after all!" she explained.

"Speaking of which, should I open the gateway now?"

"Yeah, go for it!"

And so they headed over to the Blue Forest and found a suitable tree.

Marcy opened the gateway, and the three stepped inside.

Who knows what awaited them past that iridescent mist?

Well, there's only one way to find out, isn't there?

"Ok," Moon said, "we're in agreement that we need to do something to stop the collapse?"

Garnet and Pix nodded, faces serious.

"I'm thinking about sending the three a warning, possibly some useful tools to help them stay on a good path."

"Sounds like a good idea," Pix replied, as Garnet nodded again.

"Let's hope things go well," Garnet said

"And let's hope they make the right choices," Moon finished.

After all, the worst was still ahead.
