After a good night’s rest, and the usual nightmare he has, he quickly ate some breakfast at the cafeteria, and got ready for his Demon Weaponry class. Everyone in this class was a down-right weirdo. Some dressed like cultists, some like villains/villainesses, some were just weird in itself. Fortunately, there was one normal person in the classroom with one empty seat next to him, so Adei sat down in that exact seat so he doesn’t have to deal with those… other people. Because he’s not that good at conversing with people, he quickly greeted him with a smile, and a bow, but the fellow classmate started talking to him either way.
–“Hi! I’m Elijah. How about you, what’s your name”
–“Well… I’m Adei.. Can I sit next to you…?”
He said with a forced smile on his face, trying to make a good impression.
–“Sure! Please do so.”
On a second thought, he wasn’t as bad as Adei thought he would be. He gladly took the seat, and waited for the teacher.
The first class of Demon Weaponry was mostly about the history, and practicality of demon weapons. It was quite boring to Adei, since he already read all about demon weapons, to get ready for Demon Weaponry class…
–“…And no one knows what happened to Nimue Kardia after the Tribus war. So, any questions?”
Adei’s eyes glinted at this question. He always wanted to do practical combat, so he was curious when they will start preparations.
–“Teacher, when will we make the contract with our demon weapon?”
The teacher was a little taken aback by the remark, making it obvious that the question was quite bold.
–“ …Well we will do it in either the second or third class.. but you should definitely not try it on your own! We may have restraints if a demon’s soul goes berserk, but it will not hold back on you if you’re alone. So don’t do it!”
Adei was really intrigued by this answer, and wanted to ask more about the topic on hand, but he dropped it. It was probably for the best that he didn’t ask more.
After all classes ended, Adei had a quick lunch and went back to his dorm to do his homework. After walking across the whole building, he opened his dorm with the key given to him yesterday, and immediately started working on his homework. He took some glances at his demon weapon, thinking about what will happen. He thought to himself, “The demon that will come out of this will probably be quite great… Although I am excited, I don’t want to be in the spotlight and get my demon weapon taken away by the government. I was quite lucky, but next time I won’t have a chance to get a demon weapon for free again…” He pondered, “I know the teacher told me to not summon the demon inside under any circumstances, but I should make a contract with the demon and at least make disguise itself as a weaker demon…” He thought, “Although it will be hard, I will make a plan after I’m done with my homework to make sure, that no one gets hurt.”
By the time he finished his chain of thoughts, someone knocked on the door. “Who would it be? I don’t really have any friends, and I haven’t done anything wrong so why would anyone be knocking on my door?” Adei sat up from his small desk and walked up to the door, slowly opening it. He was surprised by the person who was on the other side.
–“Oh, you’re the guy from class right?”
–“Yeah! I was wondering if we could hang out at campus.”
–“Actually I’m quite busy at the mom-“
–“Great! Let’s go.”
Adei was a little bit annoyed that this Elijah guy took off with him to campus, even though he didn’t want to go, but it would be a bother to start a conflict, so he just rolled with it. The campus was quite tame despite how grand Begonia Academy is. It wasn’t filled with paintings, shimmering jewels or anything extravagant. There were surprisingly not a lot of people on campus, about three or four people were there besides us, but no one else.
They sat down next to a window, Elijah taking out a few snacks from his back.
–“So you may be wondering why I brought you here..”
–“Yeah…”
Adei burst out in rage, of course in his head, “OF COURSE I’M WONDERING. WHO THE HELL DRAGS SOMEONE OUT OF THEIR ROOM TO SOMEWHERE ELSE SO THEY CAN ‘HANG OUT’ WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT!?” Although he do wanted to say that, it would've been too much of a bother to start a conflict for him. From the look on Adei’s face, it was clear that he was upset, hence Elijah started explaining his actions in an attempt to calm him down.
–“W-well… Okay I’m sorry.. I just wanted to be friends with you and maybe hang out…?”
–…Sigh “Fine okay we can be friends. But I can’t hang out today… I have to do my assignments.”
–“Well… maybe we could do our homework together!”
–“Hmm… that’s not a bad idea… Okay fine, but don’t bother me. Promise?”
–“Promise!”

As we did our homework without anyone uttering a word, hours went by. Looking out the window, the sunset shone through the windows and the trees, leaving light streaks in the campus, the dust completely visible in that area. Adei glanced and the clock hanged up on the campus’s wall… “Oh god… It’s 7 PM already!? I’ll have to come up with a plan so I can summon the demon by 9 PM..!” Adei thought. He quickly packed his bags and told Elijah.
–“Sorry, I have to go now. Bye…!”
–“Huh..? Ok bye..”
He looked kind of sad, so Adei felt kind of bad, but he had no time to spare.
He rushed through the whole building to his campus door, attempting to put in the keys into the keyhole, he succeeded on the 5th try. When he opened the door, he quickly sat down and started reminiscing about the plan. “Around 8:30 PM, the guards change shifts which takes about 5 minutes so I only have time to sneak out then. The problem is when will I come back… security becomes more tight at daytime so I can’t sleep elsewhere… I can probably squeeze in at 1:30 AM… I will have to wait a little, but it’s worth it… I’ll get ready in about thirty minutes, it’ll take about 35 minutes to sneak to the perfect spot… then I’ll sneak out to the nearest forest which will have an abundance of monsters, but I’ll somehow deal with them if I manage to make a contract with the demon weapon” He pondered, “Okay! That’ll be perfect! I’ll get ready…”

Near one of the side gates, he kneeled down at a bush and waited for the guards to go away. It was a breezy night, the wind ran through his white hair, shimmering in the illuminating moonlight. Stars painted the sky with white dots, also assisting the moon in lighting up the scene. When the guards where gone, he placed the demon weapon against the tall fence. The scythe itself didn’t even shine from the moon, it’s like it has absorbed the light completely. He struggled at first, but successfully crossed the wall by climbing onto the scythe, and crossing the wall with both him and the scythe.
After he crossed the wall, he walked to a forest two kilometres away (about 1.3 miles). The journey was rough, since he had to make changes in his route, because of several monsters blocking his path. He had no combat experience nor mana, so he had to avoid them.
When he got to the forest, he opened a small papyrus tied to the weapon’s handle.
It contained instructions on how to summon the demon’s soul and how to deal with them. The papyrus, and the ink was rather old, but it was somewhat readable. It was quite different from the normal summoning method, most likely because the demon’s soul is significantly more powerful than a normal demon.
Summoning Instruction Manual
Step 1: Draw a Sun-Moon Pentagram, use mana stone-style magic imbued chalk to draw it
Step 2: The enchantment letters shall be: ᛏᚼᛁ ᛒᛁᚱᛋᚬᚾ ᚢᚼᚬ ᛋᛅᛚᛁᛏ ᚾᛁᛘᚢᛁ ᛁᚾ ᚦᛁᛋ ᛋᚴᛁᚦᛁ ᛁᛋ ᛋ, ᚦᛁ ᛘᛅᚾ ᛁᚾ ᛅᛏᛁᛁ×ᛋ ᛏᚱᛅᛘᛋ
Step 3: Draw over the letters with your blood
Step 4: Draw the following symbol on wherever on your body
Step 5: Place the weapon on the pentagram
Step 6: Say the incantation, ᚾᛁᛘᚢᛁ, ᛅᛏᛁᛁ, ᛅᚾᛏ ᛋ ᛅᚱᛁ ᚠᚱᚬᛘ ᚦᛁ ᛋᛅᛘᛁ ᚬᚱᛁᚴᛁᚾᛋ, ᚾᚬᛏ ᚠᛅᛘᛁᛚᛁ ᚦᚬᚢᚴᚼ.
Step 7: Brace yourself for the pressure and light.
Adei was slightly shaken by the last step “Brace myself…? Will this be okay..?” He thought. He shook his head, “You know what? It’s probably not dangerous if it’s an official manual, and I’ve already come this far, so I should follow through it. I’ll die either from the surrounding monsters or this, so it doesn’t matter.”
He drew the Sun-Moon pentagram, and did all the other steps, now the only thing left to do was to say the incantation.
He hesitated a bit, but gathered his courage, and shouted.
–“ᚾᛁᛘᚢᛁ, ᛅᛏᛁᛁ, ᛅᚾᛏ ᛋ ᛅᚱᛁ ᚠᚱᚬᛘ ᚦᛁ ᛋᛅᛘᛁ ᚬᚱᛁᚴᛁᚾᛋ, ᚾᚬᛏ ᚠᛅᛘᛁᛚᛁ ᚦᚬᚢᚴᚼ!!!”
The letters and the pentagram started shining, the pressure, and light became bigger and bigger, until the light engulfed the whole area. The pressure was so severe that he had to kneel down, and couldn’t get back up. It was immense pain, it was so bad that his eardrums were about to burst.
The light toned down a bit, and the atmospheric pressure went back to normal and when he looked up, a layer of red fog surrounded the summoning circle. A figure came out of the fog.
They stopped when they saw Adei, who still had his knees slightly bended from the previous events. They paused a little, and said something really unexpected
–“Hi Adei… Person… I’m Nimue Kardia! You may know me from the Tribus War’s legend.”
Adei paused and slowly looked up at the figure, still hidden by the smoke. He’s never been so surprised in his life. He started shaking lightly, not knowing how to process the chain of events that just happened
–“WHAT!?!”
He yelled.
