I’m glad I managed to get out of work early today. The Chief is too good to me. I’ll need to remember to take him some of his favourite Brandy after my week off.

Deciding since I’d gotten home before Harm, I just cooked anyway, wiping my hands pleased with myself at the spread before me. Picking up both plates and walking towards the dining table, I can hear a key enter our door's keyhole. 

She’s just on time.

“Welcome back babe.”

“Thanks. Get out early? I was just about to start cooking.” Harmony closes the door behind her and walks into the living room.

“No worries, I’ve been back for a while, I figured I might as well get dinner started.”

 “Wow, that smells great.”

“It tastes better. Go wash your hands and we can eat.”

“On my way babe.” She walks into our room, and so I sit down and pour her and myself some water. 

Walking in, having taken off her jacket, her shirt tight against her body, with her form hugging skirt-

I’m… glad I didn’t say that out loud.

“What? Something on my face?”

Crap, she noticed. 

“Uh no, no, sorry.”

“I’m fucking with you. Gimme a kiss.” 

Well, I’m not going to say no…

We kiss, both honestly getting a bit carried away, I have to point to the food on the table while tapping her shoulder. 

Eventually, we break our kiss and she sits down.

“Sorry, not sorry.” She says as she winks at me.

“Hahaha.” 

And we both start to dig into our food. This might be a good time to tell her, “So, got some news for you, Harm.”

“Oh?”

“Yeah, the Chief gave me a week off effective today. Got any plans in the next seven days?”

“Nice! That… actually works. I was going to go training during the week, but I got sent a text from Alli, saying they have to postpone lessons for a while. I guess something came up. Plus side, we can spend more time together. I’ll admit I’ve probably been going a little hard on training lately.”

“Ah, I see, I hope it's nothing serious… If you want, I can put you through your paces if you feel up to it during the week.”

“That works. Thanks. I didn't get the  impression things were serious though. They should be fine.”

Hmm. I want to suggest something but… I know she just said spend some time together…

“Sue?”

“Yeah?”

“Wanna call them in the morning?” 

How did she… “What do you mean?”

“I know that look babe. And I agree. It’s been months and I’m worried too. Wanna be annoying friends with me?” 

Harm holds my hand and smirks whilst winking at me. I can only chuckle to myself and reply.

“See, this is why I love you. You know me so well.”

“Oh, so that’s why, hmm? And here’s me thinking it was because of my body.”

Uh… “Can you not?”

“Awww, but you're so fun to tease.”

She really knows how to lighten my mood. I’m not sure what I’d do without her to be honest. We continue our small talk whilst we finish eating, and Harmony offers to wash up whilst I go take a shower. 

Later

We sit on the couch cuddling, not really paying attention to what’s on the TV. Harmony is the first to speak.

“I don’t think we should call them. They’re much more likely to just say no to us.”

She has a point… We’ve been trying to stay in contact all this time, but they both have been adamant about…. dealing with this themselves. Jason is the only one who they don’t turn away… Well, being their father helps, but still…

“Good point. We can go in the morning, if you don’t mind?”

“Of course. I’ll be honest, if it means we have to spend the week on this I honestly wouldn't mind.”

“Me neither.”

I’ve really tried to not let this bother me as much as it has, and I’m sure Harmony isn’t doing much better in that regard, but I feel we haven’t done enough to try to help. So this time off might be the best time to try and… well, be good friends.

“So, you never told me. How’d that case debrief go?”

“Went great, thanks, and then Chief knocked me around for a while. Still kinda sore.” I playfully rub my shoulder.

“I hope not TOO sore, because tonight, you are mine.” Harm looks towards me, giving her trademark smirk. 

I guess I’ll be sleeping a little later tonight.

“I’m all yours.”
