Truth of Error

The Beginning of the End (Penumbra)

The Beginning of the End (Penumbra)

Feb 15, 2024

The world is in decay, unbalanced, people are sick, animals are dying, soon everything will crumble. All our technology amounted to nothing. We've lost communication with the rest of the planet, and we can't travel far.

We're likely isolated in what remains of the cities. The larger ones like the old Paradise 88, which can still recycle water and food, as they were geographically favored, will soon implode. Everything is coming to an end.

Not even Lumina7, a complex of advanced autonomous machines capable of generating water, food, and energy from raw matter, will be able to reverse the current scenario. Support technologies like Lumina7 are operating at less than 10% of their original capacity, which still keeps people alive and encourages rudimentary practices of trade and exchange for food or equipment. But with the cut-off of supplies purified by Lumina technology, the population started to devolve, reverting to their egocentric and violent tendencies.

It was in chaos that we realized our dependence on the technologies brought by Glac; we forgot that there was a world beyond the paradise cities. The machines progressively continued to malfunction, probably due to what seems like a rupture of the very physical laws that govern the planet.

The technological advancements brought by the scientist Saran Glac enabled the creation of the Paradise cities. An initiative that fought wars over resources on the planet. The planet Moluzpradoxi became divided into various cities linked together by Nexus technology and powered by Lumina. The natural zones between the cities were revitalized and preserved, and soon the world was characterized by large technological urban centers and diverse natural biomes.

The life expectancy of the inhabitants tripled, thanks to Lumina technology, which produced food that restored and recovered all bodily functions, including diseases. There was a stabilization and mental/spiritual evolution of the population. Wars and conflicts over resources no longer made sense.

People turned to their intrinsic abilities and developed body, mind, and spirit. The general consciousness of the population was focused on working for the progress of the species. In two centuries of scientific, cultural, and artistic development, we were moving towards the pinnacle of civilization. At this moment, things began to crumble.

No one ever managed to trace the origin of Saran Glac. He remained isolated in his underground laboratory; in holographic meetings, he could be recognized by his distinct black eyes, a rarity among the planet's population. He carried an unknown device on his wrist and always wore dark clothes, which often covered his entire body. He seemed to be in the middle of his lifespan, but no one knew his age. Despite his introspective characteristics and lack of good humor, he was a vital piece in society.
