“Hey June, have we read all the ASL books yet?” asked Robin. “no, not yet. We just need to read this one...” answered June, silently searching along with her finger. “We have read all of them here, but i could've sworn there was another one!” she said, turning to Robin. “oh i see it!” said robin, pointing to a girl sitting on a blue chair. They start walking towards her, and august asked ‘hey can we read the book when you finish?’ to no response. So she asked again. No response. She imatiently tapped her shoulder, to which the girl quickly looked up, looking startled. “can we read the book when you finish!?” she asked. The girl looked confused and scrambled to get her bag and grabbed out something that looked like a notebook. The group looked at eachother, confused. The girl got a pencil and started writing something. The girl handed the book to august to read. It said ‘hello! My name is Jessie and i am deaf. Could you please repeat that? I also know sign language, so you can talk to me using that.’ August gasped. What this a joke? There is no way there was a deaf girl going to our school!
