Alejandro and Petal-Rain stood together, looking worried and alert as they watched the branches and vines thrash in response to the howling breeze. It seemed as though the forest was shaking off the effects of Petal-Rain's powerful scream, which had stunned the forest.
Alejandro yelled in concern for Petal-rain's safety and pointed behind him, "Hurry, go!" Without hesitation, Petal-rain began to run, and Alejandro followed closely behind. The branches and vines started chasing them like snakes in the forest, striking fiercely from every angle. They felt surrounded, but they didn't give up. They kept running for their lives.
The forest was trying to kill them and wasn't interested in talking or listening. Petal-rain knew that it was now a matter of survival of the fittest. Even though the forest didn't care about causing them harm, she still considered herself a child of the forest and harming it went against her ways. On the other hand, Alejandro didn't think twice about it. It was either survive or die. Petal-rain used her natural magic to put up blockades. At the same time, Alejandro destroyed the branches and vines that came at them like flying arrows.
As they fled, Petal-rain's magic seemed to turn against her. The plants that were supposed to block the branches and vines now chased after them. They kept running for hours, growing increasingly exhausted. Eventually, they came to a specific area of the forest where the plants suddenly stopped attacking them. The branches and vines withdrew as if they were giving up on pursuing the two.
Petal-rain and Alejandro were both out of breath, trying to catch a break from their relentless chase. They thought they had a minute to rest, but suddenly, they heard rustling in the forest behind them. As they turned to look back, they saw branches and vines charging at them at full speed. The chase was far from over.
Alejandro stood in front of Petal-rain, holding both of his swords in hand. She screamed in her language, her fear evident on her face. "For the sake of the Great Divines! Leave us alone!" he yelled angrily as he swung one of his swords to cut through a branch charging toward him. However, a Vine wrapped around one of his wrists, trapping him.
Alejandro cut the vine that had wrapped around his wrist. Suddenly, a bunch of vines and branches attacked him, wrapping tightly around his wrists and ankles. He tried to struggle against them, putting up a good fight, but the forest was too strong. It hung him from his wrists and ankles, tightening the grips and causing his wrists and ankles to bleed. The forest didn't stop there; it started to whip him with its branches and vines.
Alejandro is startled by every sound of a breaking branch or a rustling vine, causing him to scream. Petal-rain found the screams and agony of Alejandro to be unbearable. The sight of the forest compelled her to witness its cruelty towards Alejandro. She screams in her native tongue, urgently pleading for help like a prayer.
A giant flower bulb emerged from behind Petal-rain and opened as if it were blooming. As green energy glowed, a hand touched her shoulder. Startled and tearful, she turned around and was shocked to see a woman standing behind her.
A woman emerged, seemingly from a giant flower bulb. Her face was unique, with bark on the left side and humanoid features on the right. Her brown eyes were hollow but gentle, and her skin had a wooden texture. From her head, branches sprouted, adorned with blooming pink flowers. Her right arm was wooden with a dark hue, while her left arm was made of stone with moss growing from her shoulders and down her arms. She wore clothing made of flower petals, covering her legs.
Petal-rain didn't hesitate and pleaded for help, crying out of fear and uncertainty. Even though she didn't know if the woman in front of her was an enemy, she said, "Please help him! I love him!" Petal-rain was suddenly surprised that she could speak the human language perfectly. The woman in front of her smiled gently and reassured her by saying, "Do not worry, my child. Your mother is here to help." When Petal-rain heard these words, she knew exactly who the woman was. It was the Great Divine of Nature, Mother Nature Nectoria.
Nectoria approached Petal-rain and saw the vines and branches that were harming Alejandro. The branches and vines charged towards Nectoria like flying arrows. Nectoria was enraged and yelled, "That's enough!" The branches and vines stopped in their tracks and were in Nectoria's face. The branches seemed to flinch, retreat a bit, and return to their natural color instead of appearing lifeless. Nectoria pointed at Alejandro and snapped, "Put him down, NOW!" The branches and vines slowly and gently put Alejandro down, and they seemed frightened.
Alejandro is lying on the ground, groaning in pain. Petal-rain rushes over to him and looks at his wounds with fear and concern. She then looks up at Nectoria with tears and says, "Thank you, Nectoria!" Nectoria smiles gently and responds, "No, my dear Petal-rain, thank you. You have always respected my ways and treated my forests with respect, even when they tried to harm you and your love. I have blessed you with the power of human language and the ability to prove that you are my child." She then turns into leaves that blow away with the wind, saying, "Now, go and show those who dare to challenge you, my saint."
