It was a total challenge to make a comics with watercolors !! And I was so AFRAID to begin the colors. T^T
Usually I work in digital with photoshop and mangastudio, with the crtl-z safety key. :P But here, no mistakes allowed, it’s a big pressure. I thought several times to give up because I was not happy with the watercolor rendering. But after all I was able to ignore the imperfections and imprecision of the paint. As I said to Algesiras (the writer) I found an old-fashioned charm in the work and accepted the pages as they are.
Today I’m really glad I made this page of comic in traditional painting ! :D
A retry (maybe) even if the work is a thousand times longer to do.
And you, what do you think ?

Elinor Jones is a comics series of 140 pages, published in 3 books by Soleil (France), between 2010 and 2012.

The story is about a young seamstress, Elinor, discovering the haute couture house Tiffany, famous in England for their prestigious balls. Elinor will be a witness and protagonist of upheavals affecting the workshop and the Tiffany family.
Yemanja is a short episode of Elinor's adventures, taking place during the second half of the book "le Bal de Printemps". The Tiffany team is working on a collection about mythology. For the sheer pleasure of being part of the characters and the atmosphere of the books again, we wanted to see Elinor back in her element, being involved in the creation of one of the Tiffany gowns.
