12th chapter's starting!!! I hope you'll enjoy it!
After last month's update, I realized that the script for the upcoming pages wasn't fitting; a scene was missing. So, I improvised these pages.
At the very beginning, the Boy's dialogue wasn't supposed to overlap with Tera's scene, but it seemed completely nak3d and silent, so I had this idea. And it allowed me to do something pretty interesting and powerful: while the Boy thought Tera was just listening and respectful, that this moment was tender and comforting for him, it fractured something in Tera. The fact that he tears off his mask, and it shatters on the ground was essential.
The Boy is starting to see parallels between himself and Tera, while he doesn't know what he's talking about, since Tera didn't open up. He can only feel it.
---
For those who remember, I had explained the metaphor of the painting. It represents his relationship with Tera. The painting depicts a forest (it has slightly evolved, it's irrational but intentional). The forest is the unknown, the danger and the journey. The first time we see it, the boy is intrigued. He contemplated it with suspicion and interest. The canvas was not hung on the wall though, "I need to find a place for it." (*wink wink* The Boy needs time to figure he's gonna make some room for Tera in his life and heart)
It's a way of saying that the Boy hasn't ventured into the forest yet. When the Boy comes back to see his therapist, in these new pages, the panel shows the Boy with the canvas in the background, as if he were truly lost in the middle of this forest, he has entered it, BUT hasn't realized it yet. He won't mention the canvas here because he hasn't seen it; it's behind him. It emphasizes what the psychologist is saying: he is getting closer to Tera without realizing it.
And since Tera ( and everything that he implies) represents this scary journey... it's a forest.
I hope you liked this update!
Thank you so much for the love and support <3
Just think of two boys, thinking they’re in the right place, comfortable in their everyday life. Nothing to break their plans for the future. And suddenly they crash on that other one, who is so different and far away from what they know that it blows up their world. But now someone is looking at them. Seeing them for the first time. And they are so moved and overwhelmed by that feeling that they are ready to give up on everything else, and escape from, they realize it now, what was a prison.
Because they’ve met each other, their respective worlds have come apart, it's like a collision. And now they are an anchor for each other, the only compass in this new world where they are lost.
