Three weeks have passed since that night—since Sela had that insane dream… or nightmare. Okay, an erotic nightmare?
She had tried her best to forget about it, but every night, she’d been haunted by him—the vampire in her basement.
The impossibly vivid memory of his face, his scent, his voice, and his icy cold touch. It was complete madness, because how could she be feeling all that because of one nightmare?
Rain had jokingly told her that maybe the reason was because her house was really haunted. Though Sela knew that Rain obviously didn’t believe in ghosts or anything like that, Sela did start to believe that Rain’s deduction might really be the truth. Because she really didn’t have any better explanation for what she had experienced.
Even so, she wasn’t scared. She honestly didn’t care if the house was haunted, as long as the ghosts or spirits residing in it wouldn’t harm her. So far, nothing has happened in the past few weeks aside from her dreaming of that man, that vampire, who kept visiting her bed every night… making her wet.
“What.” Sela raised a brow at Rain while they were on their way to Sela’s mansion.
“You’re not talking about your handsome vampire ghost. You finally moved on, I see.” Rain teased.
“Unfortunately for you, because I’m never moving on from that gorgeous vampire boyfriend of mine.” Sela smiled smugly.
“And here I thought you’re finally..."
“Whoah!!!”
Sela’s sudden yelp made Rain snap towards her.
When she followed Sela’s line of sight, Rain pinched the skin between her brows.
A bookstore and those four cursed letters were flashed so big in a tarpaulin outside. SALE!
Rain wound her arm around Sela’s neck from the back, stopping her from running towards the store. “Don’t, damn it. You know that’s a trap. And you just bought another vampire porn book the other day. I’m not going to let you buy another fairy porn book when you’re already short of money.”
“But it’s on sale…”
Rain dragged her away. Ignoring Sela’s fake crying.
“You really need to deal with this addiction of yours. It’s getting worse and look what happened to you. You're even having stupid dreams now because of too much reading of those vampire and fae porn –”
“I told you to stop calling them porn! And god, you should be thankful I’m addicted to books! It could be drugs, you know, or red flag psychopath, or narcissistic men?! And my addiction is definitely much better than your dangerous and expensive ass addiction to big bikes!”
“Well, unlike you, I have money to spend.”
“Damn you, rich kid!!”
“That’s right, I’m a rich kid. So a poor kid like you should just listen, and let’s just go home before you end up making yourself even poorer.”
"You savage rich kid! Just you wait. I will marry a rich man!”
“Good luck with that.”
Soon, the duo finally reached Sela's house. However, instead of a warm, relaxing welcome, Sela was greeted by bills! Letting out a deep sigh, she stared at them, her expression one of someone on the brink of a breakdown.
“What should I do? What if this house will also start needing repairs?” Sela pouted, pressing her forehead against the table. “I don’t want to sell it, Rain.”
Sela had already fallen in love with the house. It had become incredibly special to her. The thought of selling it was just unimaginable now—there was no way she would be willing to do that!
“How about you rent your house? But nah, being a landlord comes with its own set of responsibilities and potential risks too, which is really a pain," Rain commented casually. “Better choices, in my opinion, are turning the property into a bed and breakfast, converting the property into a vacation rental, or leasing the property for special events. If you want, I’ll ask someone I know to help you.”
“You really are the daughter of business-minded people.” Sela’s face brightened. “Thank you!!! I love you the most in this world, Rain.”
“Yeah… yeah…” Rain gave her a deadpan face as she sipped on her boba tea.
“It’s true.”
“More than your house and your books and that hidden library you’ve been so crazy about?"
“Err… I’m talking about living things.”
Rain shook her head as Sela’s laughter echoed in the peaceful living room.
