Tyler never thought he would ever be married. He always thought he would grow up alone, maybe with a girlfriend or a pet, and surrounded by family and friends. He never thought he would ever find someone to love, let alone someone to love all his life, marry, and maybe even start a family with.
Tyler was certain that if you told his high school self that he would be married one day, he would have laughed in your face. The thought that anyone would love him the way he was seemed absurd. It wasn't as if he didn't have confidence in himself at the time. In fact, he was far too confident in high school and a little too self-centered.
But that didn't mean that he didn't have his moments of doubt and lack of confidence, like everyone else. Now that he thinks about it, his overconfidence was probably hiding the fact that he was also not as confident as he liked to show.
Thinking about it made him laugh inside, thinking about everything they had been through. Who would have thought that it would all lead to this final moment? It was as if all the hardships they had overcome had been meant to lead them to this moment. If he had known that these trials had the sole purpose of bringing them to that moment, maybe he wouldn't have been so worried about the future and wouldn't have fought so hard against everything life threw at him. Therefore, he is glad that he never knew what the future had in store for him, because it is thanks to that, that he had the strength to fight so fiercely and to move forward despite everything.
Dreams of marriage had never crossed his mind because he had never allowed himself to hope before that someone would love him for who he was. And not just what he wanted to show.
But what seemed impossible before was happening. And it felt surreal. It was like he was dreaming. He felt like he was swimming in a dream. He knew he wasn't dreaming, having made sure of it this morning by pinching his arm a few times discreetly. Nevertheless, there was always a small part of him that whispered to him that it was only a dream, that nothing was real, and that he would wake up alone, as always, so painfully alone.
This voice terrified him, and he did his best to ignore it. This was supposed to be the best day of his life. That's why today, nothing was going to run this day, not even his fucked-up brain.
No, in fact, the one who really pushed him forward and supported him throughout his ordeals was none other than the person he loved. There was a time when he was afraid to admit it to himself—to admit that he loved him. But today, saying his words only brings him warmth and comfort.
As he finished getting dressed, in a black suit that suited his muscular frame perfectly. His parents entered the room uninvited.
"Tyler, my God, you're going to be late!" his mother yelled in a hasty tone as she ran to find something.
"Tyler, son, you know I'm patient, but being late on your wedding day is a little too much, even for you," said his exasperated father calmly.
Tyler, hearing his parents screaming, felt his throat knot and his hands get sweaty. He was too hot, he felt like he was compressing and suffocating in his suit, as if the size of the suit were too small. He could hear her frantic heartbeat. It was as if his heart had been replaced by a basketball that was dribbling at breakneck speed on a basketball court. He could feel his heart pounding out of his chest.
His costume was starting to stick to his skin. He felt a bead of sweat running down his back, and sweat started to pull on his forehead. He tried to calm down, taking a deep breath, but each breath made his stomach turn. He'd had the foresight not to eat before, and he was glad he did, or his clothes would be soaked in vomit right now.
He could hear his ears ringing despite the silence. He felt like he was drowning. At that moment, he just wanted to come to the surface of the water he was drowning in.
He was so caught up in his panic that he didn't notice that his parents around him had stopped their conversation to look at him.
"Tyler, honey, are you okay? You haven't said a word since the beginning." Said his mother.
"Son, take a deep breath and focus on me, okay?" his father said.
As Tyler focused on his father's voice and followed his instructions, he felt a little calmer, although the anxiety and stress were still present.
"Tyler, it is normal to be anxious on your wedding day. But don't let that overwhelm you and stop you. Just remember that just a few feet away from you is the person you love, who is probably waiting for you, just as anxious as you are."
To hear that his other half was just as anxious reassured him enormously.
"Thank you, Dad. I don't know why I panicked, but now I'm much better, and I'll pull myself together. Plus, I'm sure everyone is waiting for the buffet."
"Alright, Son, we'll wait for you there with the guests. Hurry up, or I think poor Jonas will die of stress by then."
"One last thing, remember we are proud of you and your dad, Tyler."
"Thank you, Mom."
He embraced his parents; the others quietly slipped away, leaving them with privacy. And soon Tyler's parents did the same by joining the guests, leaving him alone with his thoughts.
But this time, instead of succumbing to his anxiety, he looked at himself one last time in the mirror. By ensuring that everything is in place, in front of the mirror, and under the subdued light, he finds himself more beautiful than anything. His black suit hugged his long legs and muscular thighs perfectly. His height and muscular biceps matched his jacket perfectly. And his black pants hugged his ass perfectly, Tyler noticed as he turned to see himself in the mirror.
His black hair was pulled back into a low ponytail. However, a few hairs lay along his temples and fell into his eyes. His brown skin shone with an almost translucent glow from the sweat.
As he finally got ready to join the guests and meet his betrothed, he couldn't help but take a deep breath before joining them and pulling his bow tie back into place with a shaking hand.
As he walked, Tyler felt his heart pumping blood for two bodies. He felt a little suffocated in his suit, which fit him perfectly. Basically, he was someone who liked a lot of attention. But today, every look that was directed at him seemed too intrusive, as if they could see how he felt.
The room shone with an aquamarine blue color. Aquamarine-blue flowers were hanging from the ceiling and floating in the air. The interior of the room was surrounded by sparkling aquariums of turquoise water composed of the most magnificent fish. It was like a fairy tale.
The fish seemed to come from another planet, with their most improbable colors. There were pink fish, purple jets, and even fluorescent yellow. It was the first time he had seen fish in those colors. The fish added color to what was originally a blue room. The reflections of the colors of the fish reflect on the aquariums and create echoes of color in the room.
The tables were round and the same color as the room. The tabletops were transparent. And in the center of each table were white roses with candles placed in a circle around bouquets of roses.
Each table also had a nice aquarium to allow each guest to admire the magnificent fish.
Entering this room was like diving into an ocean on earth. It was surreal. The beauty of the room was breathtaking.
But seeing the one he loved right in front of him dressed in a white suit that suited him perfectly, he couldn't help but think that the beauty of the room was nothing compared to the beauty of the one that made him face him.
