To be fair as a very small kid I also thought 12 years old was like the equivalent of a granny, considering I couldn't count too far past 20 anyway.

When I was 16 I was babysitting a little girl who asked me if I was 32. I said no that's twice my age I'm only 16. She responded that her Dad is 32. Further conversation led to her describing 3 groups of people: children of various ages, adults who are all around her parents' ages and grandparents who are everyone older than her parents. I fit in with adults. It was quite logical for a 7-year-old. Lol
