Once they had left the room Arthur went across to the main entrance of the castle, he came out of a door from the castle's left and was facing a large staircase. Next to that staircase was a guard wearing Silverwood colours, and Arthur started talking to him.
'Excuse me, could you show me where-'
'Take us to Henry Silverwood's office, by the order of the king!' shouted Richard, interrupting Arthur before he was able to finish speaking.
'Errrrr... yes... Your Majesty! Follow me!' Arthur more or less rolled his eyes.
'So why are you in such a bad mood today?' he Arthur.
'Well Arthur, as soon as I arrived here I was surrounded by a crowd of such ungrateful bastards, they were calling me names, yelling at me, telling me that I'm a shitty king and things like that'
'OK...well that's pretty much what happened when I arrived here.'
'Not only that, they started throwing stones at me, and at one time I had a fish thrown to my face!'
'Haha! Err... I mean... that's horrible! How dare they do that to our wonderful king!' After quite a long walk around the castle, the two reached Count Silverwood's office. Richard didn't bother knocking and simply burst the door open, to which a shocked Count Silverwood responded
'What the hell?! Why don't you just... oh, hello Your Majesty. Take a seat please. And hello again Arthur, do you feel any better now?'
'Yeah, my head still hurts a little bit, but otherwise, I'm fine.' said Arthur
'Good, anyway I have some important matters to be dealt with, I've received a letter from Queen Juliet.'
Once Arthur heard this he was knocked out of breath instantly, while Richard just stood there with an emotionless face. Count Silverwood had the letter, of which was a scroll wrapped round a round wooden block, and started reading it aloud.
'Dear Count Henry Silverwood, I have been informed that in your debate yesterday Prince Arthur made a claim that I have plans to declare war on the Rosethorne Kingdom. I can safely tell you that those claims are false'
'What?! But-'
'Hold on, there's more: I gather that the source of this allegation was a now executed necromancer, of which the Rosethornes failed to identify for whatever reason' Count Silverwood then stopped reading out loud `Your Majesty, did you ever ask for the necromancer leader's name?' King Richard just shrugged
‘Well, no, I mean I got what I wanted out of him, so what's the deal?' After he said that, Arthur and Count Silverwood were left stunned in silence.
'Really? I don't believe this, you're supposed to be the most responsible, most sensible person in our kingdom and this has happened? I can't believe it!' shouted an incredulous Count Silverwood. 'I mean what am I supposed to say to her now?'
'Well just... say I forgot to ask him!' announced Richard 'Besides, I found out far more revealing things than just the name of one more worthless person, besides that he was getting executed anyway, so why would he not reveal all of Juliet's plans?'
'Well that begs the question though, how does he know all of this to begin with?'
'Ah, when I was interrogating him he told me he was one of Juliet's sorcerers, and that he left her due to her antics or something like that!'
'And you still didn't ask for his name...' groaned Arthur.
'Why... I was... so invested in what he had to say-'
'That it just went over your head, like so many other things; said Arthur.
'Well I could write back saying that it's possible this necromancer was one of her former sorcerers, how does that sound?' said Count Silverwood, Arthur nodded and said:
'That sounds good to me.'
'Arthur! I'm the king! I make the decisions! Though... yes just write that' Count Silverwood went back to reading the letter again.
'Furthermore, Arthur claimed that a monster nest to the north of Silverwood was created by us, that isn't true either, I'll be more than happy to send an army to defeat them, though not without your permission'
'Well that won't be necessary!' said Arthur, with a cheerful voice.
'Hang on, she has one more thing to say' he said, and he started reading aloud again. 'Lastly, due to the accusations about me and the necromancers that attacked Ashford, I would like King Richard to order a full investigation into the origins of the necromancers, for both the safety of our kingdoms and to disprove these awful lies. Yours truly, Queen Juliet Lucianna' Count Silverwood put the letter down on his desk and crossed his arms 'So, are you going to launch an investigation?'
'No, what's the point? It's a waste of time!' declared Richard, both Arthur and Count Silverwood looked at him confused
'But dad, what if there are more of them? Isn't that what she meant by “the safety of our kingdoms”? Besides that, how is it a waste of time?' Count Silverwood looked at Arthur, smiling at him.
'Because... I...'
'Just do it! If we annoy Juliet any more than we already have she really will declare war on us! And it'll be all your fault!'
'OK, OK, I'll do it.'
'Thank you Arthur.' said Count Silverwood 'Anyway, there are two other issues I want to discuss with you, Your Majesty. The second thing is about your request for us to raise an army...' Count Silverwood then stopped talking all of a sudden.
'Go on, keep talking!' shouted Richard
'The thing is the whole point of this army being raised to begin with is in order to fight of the Kingdom of Lucianna, but Juliet keeps saying she won't declare war on us, so to me it seems unnecessary'
'Well that's the whole reason why I came here! You'll raise the army, and that's an order from the king!'
'Right... if you say so, I guess there's no reason why not since the monster lair has been taken care of'
Hmm... necromancers are a tricky bunch but if Juliet isn't waging war, why go to the trouble of raising an army? And LOL, who is the real king here? Pretty sure it's Arthur XD
