Prologue
The scientist hastily wiped his brow as he held the fracture of magicite in his hand, before carefully setting it back down again. Magicite. It was a very powerful substance…it managed to bring Kefka back.
Kefka? He was…well…
He instantly felt a sharp pain run down his spine, causing him to turn around to see one of the generals, by the door, leaning against the white lab walls, his beady amber eyes narrowed at him.
He sighed. He knew that the general could hear all his thoughts…he should be more loyal…his only purpose was to serve Kefka after all.
Concentrating on the magicite again, he took out a vial of Cesium and poured it into a test tube. It was a stupid idea- sure, but he’d always wondered how radioactivity and pure crystalized magic would interact…
Slowly, he picked up the Magicite again, slowly dropping it into the test tube, along with the Cesium.
He flinched, yet nothing happened.
Black goo started to form around the test tube, and it seemed to melt the glass.
Nevermind…something had happened…interesting….
Suddenly, there was an explosion of…something…and he was thrown back. Right in front of him stood a very clear- and bright portal, which gave off a surging purple light. Almost afraid, he scooted himself further away from the portal-thing, an amazed look on his face.
The portal sat there for a few seconds, before vanishing into thin air. The scientist didn’t think much about the oddity of the situation as he excitedly scribbled his findings into his journal, not bothering to clean up the mess of melted glass and the strange black goo.
The general smiled as he walked out of the room.
Very good, Scientist 14. The thought tingled down his spine as he left the room, unaware of the damage he had just done.
The world was now more broken than it already had been.
