Ava woke up the next morning to find that Kayla was no longer in bed next to her. She got up and sleepily stumbled into the kitchen to see Marcus in a Tshirt and boxers, making breakfast. "Good morning" he said with a smile as he turned towards her.

"Morning" Ava replied, still trying to wake herself up. "Where is Kayla?" she asked "I think she went to the store to buy an "Easter outfit" she said, or something" Marcus responded. "Do you want some breakfast?" He asked before pouring some more pancake batter into the pan.

"Yeah, pancakes sound good" Ava said while leaning against the counter. She looked so lost as if she was struggling to collect her thoughts before hesitantly speaking again. "About last night" she said in a quiet tone, Marcus turned towards her and with a confused expression. "Yeah?"

"It was a mistake" Ava said quickly before looking away, "I shouldn't have let it happen." Marcus's felt abit sad at her words but he remained composed. "Okay, I respect that" he said simply before turning back towards the stove. "I understand and I'm sorry if i made you feel pressured to do anything last night." He said as he continued to cook breakfast.

"No, I didnt feel pressured into anything, I just think it's best we dont get involved like that" she couldn't help but blame herself for letting things get that far last night, even if nothing really happen. Marcus was...tempting to say the least, but ava couldn't afford any more complications in her life right now she thought, espe8cially not with someone like Marcus who could easily make her crumble with just one smile.

"But it was nice seeing you again and I hope we can catch up more often" he said as he put a handful of white chocolate chips onto the half cooked pancake before flipping it to cook the other side. "Alright, but I think it's best if we don't like, be alone again" Ava said, Marcus raised an eyebrow "we are alone now, aren't we?" He said with a small laugh.

Ava couldn't help but smile at Marcus's flirtatious comment. "You know what I mean" she said playfully, "I just don't want to complicate things between us." Marcus finished making the pancakes and turned off the stove before walking over to her, placing his hand on her waist. "I understand," he said softly. "But if at any point you want to kiss me again like you did last night. I'm all for it" she looked into Marcus's warm brown eyes. She knew that being with him would be easy and fun, but she also knew that it would just be a distraction from everything else going on, "Okay" she said before looking away again. Marcus brought his hand up to her face and turned her back to look at him. "Now, are you sure you don't want to kiss me again?" He said as he moved his hand back down to her waist.

Ava blushed as she looked up at Marcus again. "It's not that I don't want to" she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Marcus leaned in closer, "Then kiss me" he replied. Ava's heart was pounding with desire but she still hesitated. She knew that kissing Marcus again would only complicate things further between them, and yet the temptation was almost too much. "Or how about I kiss you? All you have to do is say "okay" Marcus said. Ava was silent for a moment before looking back at Marcus. "okay" she said as she looked into his eyes, the way he looked at her made her feeling like his prey.

Marcus pulled Ava closer and brought his lips to hers. Desire filled Ava's eyes as she felt his hands pull her tighter, and just before their lips touched, Marcus pulled away with a smirk on his face. "Actually on second thought" he joked, "I think we should wait until after breakfast." Ava's heart sank at his words and she couldn't help but feel foolish for letting him get so close to kissing her again.

She stepped back from him, trying to hide the disappointment in her eyes. "It's not like I wanted to kiss you" she said. They suddenly hear the front door unlock, separating quickly before Kayla opens the door. "Hey, I'm back" she shouts. "I made pancakes" Marcus says back loudly. Not taking his eyes off Ava until Kayla enters the kitchen
Kayla sat down a few bags onto the counter. "Thank god, cause im starving, I want to have a shower first tho"

"Can't promise there will be any left" Marcus joked as Kayla headed into the bathroom. Once Kayla disappeared into the bathroom, Marcus turned back to Ava with a smile. "So, where were we?" he said, moving closer to her. Ava couldn't help but feel drawn to him. "Hey, no haha" she replied, trying to resist his advances. "I think we've established that it's best if we don't complicate things." Marcus said as he put a hand on her thigh. "How do you know it would be complicated?" He asked. "Because liking someone is always complicated, and messy" she said getting slightly frustrated. "What do you mean?" He asked again. "I'm not asking for anything serious. I'm just asking for a chance" he explained. Ava sighed, feeling guilty and selfish for her actions and her emotions. "I'll think about it" she said softly as she slid Marcus hand off her. "Alright, I'll accept that" Marcus said with a slight smile.

They ate in silence for several minutes, before Kayla opened the bathroom door "you better have saved me some" she jokingly said as she walked into the kitchen and sat down at the table. "I made sure he did" Ava joked. "Well thank you, you're my hero" Kayla joked back. "So what are your plans this weekend?" Marcus asked. "Oh um, my mom is making dinner on Sunday, tho it's only going to be the 4 of us this time, those I'm sure mom will still make way too much food"

"More food is always good" Marcus said with a smile. "What about both of you?" Ava said gesturing towards Kayla. "Our mom won't be back till Monday. So we are gonna have Easter dinner then" said kayla. "Oh..Well if neither of you have plans, I'm sure my parents would love to have you eat dinner with us. And oh! Kayla, We can sleep over at my place!"

"I'd love to stay over but I'd feel bad leaving marcus all alone" she replied back "I'm right here" scoffed Marcus. "I- I mean you can stay over too Marcus, if you want we can have a sleep-over in the living room, the 3 of us like we used to when we were kids" ava said "Heh, I'd like that" Marcus started to say, "okay then it's all decided" Kayla said excitedly.
