Outside the location of his last order, two guards stopped him from getting in. He showed me his work card and the package.
The guards were reluctant to let him in but did it anyway.
He rode from the gate to the elegantly lit entrance to the mansion. His eyes were wide open, his mouth gaping in delight, and a little nervous as he walked to the waiting area.
He rang the bell before letting himself in the sitting area. He stared at the fruit trees outside the mansion through the transparent walls of the waiting area.
He was running out of patience.
This being his last order for the night, he wanted to get home to take a shower and relax his tired body.
Curiously, he decided to scan the house through the open glass door for anyone to respond.
When B opened her eyes over the song she stared directly into Noah's eyes as he recognized her in shock.
Surprise didn't meet her eyes as he did. She just stood there looking at him while he tried to figure out if he was dreaming or if it was B he was staring at.
I have been hallucinating before, is this real? Am I staring at B or just another of her illusions? But, she seems so real.
It's her! It's her.
She pulled earbuds off her ears calmly walking towards the door. There and then I was numb to all the sad days and long nights I have been having because of what she said to me.
I was willing to take that aside and give her another, or rather let her give me another chance.
She's right here, I can smell her scent again, it's divine. The eyes, I've missed creepily staring at those eyes. They're somewhat tired but still with the glow, I missed you.
"Hey", instead I said the most obvious.
She isn't thrilled to see me, what have I done to myself? This whole thing was a bad idea.
"Hello, You."
She greeted me back, how I miss her voice. I miss B, everything about her.
Me? She might miss me after all.
"Yeah, me."
I was already sweating, why didn't I dress up for the occasion? Maybe I should say, " I didn't expect to see you here, not that it's bad but, I'm just… "
She stopped me," Come in."
I wanted to say no to the invite, to give an excuse that I was tired and ready for bed. But how could I? This is what my body wanted, to be close to her once more, it let itself in without caring what my mind thought.
" Thanks."
I should stop that, she hesitated from noting how often I say it.
Instead, she said," You work."
" Country boy in the big City, nothing much to do with my time here. "
" Uh-huh", she replied, leading the way through the endless sitting area to the dining table.
She hid her face from me, I couldn't tell what she was thinking looking at her back and the curly hair she proudly swung. I had only seen it that curly once, in her place the day she scared me away.
Instinctively, I traced my eyes from her perfect shoulders to the long hands dancing in the air. I had tried to not stare at her, but suddenly my eyes forced themselves down her slender back.
"Beautiful...the house", I almost made a fool of myself. Of course, the house is luxurious and unearthly, but I didn't recognize that at the time.
Was talking about her, she's beautiful. With guilt, I flashed my eyes down her back before looking away unwillingly.
She didn't reply. Gestured for me to place the order on the surface as she grabbed some plates from the kitchen.
