Roses of Betrayal

CHAPTER 1, Back To Earth. Part II

CHAPTER 1, Back To Earth. Part II

Apr 04, 2024

Suddenly, a voice shattered the tranquility, calling out Mo Yue's name with a tone that was neither the worst nor the best, but undeniably attention-grabbing. Amara shifted her focus to the source, a man named Ryo. The intrigue in her eyes was palpable as she sought clarification. “Sorry, could you repeat that for me?” Amara inquired, her voice tinged with the curiosity of a cat eyeing a particularly wiggly piece of string. Ryo, the man addressing Mo Yue, responded with a warm smile, rising from his seat with the grace of a cat who had just discovered a sunbeam. "Master, it's a pleasure to see you again after all these years! I am Ryo, your old martial art disciple. I have come to find you!" Amara's brow furrowed in disbelief, as if she had stumbled upon a plot twist in a cheesy soap opera. "If I did, in fact, have a disciple, I should remember him or his name at least, right?" Unbeknownst to her, Alijah discreetly reminded her of Ryo's connection to Mo Yue, suggesting that the sands of time may have shifted her recollection. Feeling a bit like a detective solving a case of amnesia, Amara nonchalantly requested Ryo to lend her his hands for a moment. His initial confusion melted into compliance, as if he had just agreed to participate in a peculiar game of charades. Amara delicately wrapped her hands around his, searching for clues to their shared history. Before she could articulate her newfound awareness, Alijah, the ever-watchful sidekick, interjected, steering the plot in a new direction. “I am so sorry to interrupt the little moment between the both of you, but we have to make way for His Highness,” Alijah interjected, sounding like a stage manager ushering actors backstage before a grand entrance. Amara, however, wasn't ready to let the comedic potential slip away. “Are you sure you want him here? I mean, like, let's be completely honest, wouldn't that just completely ruin my mood? Especially when it’s Nolan.” She delivered her lines with the finesse of a seasoned stand-up comedian, revealing a strained relationship with Prince Nolan that added an unexpected layer of humor to the unfolding drama. Alijah, playing the role of the straight-faced sidekick, sighed at the unfolding chaos and advised Amara to behave. Shortly after, the main hall's door swung open with a grandeur that could rival a Broadway show. Bells chimed, trumpets blared, and sunlight poured into the room, creating an entrance that bordered on the absurdly spectacular. The room fell into hushed anticipation as the grand entrance unfolded. “Wauuww, so the meeting started before my arrival? I expected better from the both of you!” the newcomer, Prince Nolan, proclaimed with feigned hurt, his voice carrying the melodramatic resonance of a community theater actor. Amara's eye roll conveyed her skepticism towards his theatrics, adding a touch of dry wit to the atmosphere. Nolan then delivered his message about Amara's release from house arrest, prompting an eye-rolling response. "Thanks brother, as if I didn't know. Anything else to add?" she deadpanned, her delivery worthy of a sitcom punchline “No... not really,” Nolan responded, playing his role with all the seriousness of an actor in a B-grade comedy. Amara, not one to let the comedic timing falter, pointed theatrically at the door. “Then please, leave and hurry up. I don't wanna talk with you any longer.” Nolan left with a forlorn expression, pretending to cry on his way out, making Amara wonder if he'd missed his true calling as a part-time actor in a traveling circus. Unfazed by the theatrics, she turned to Alijah with a deadpan expression. "What? Can we just please continue where we left off?" she asked quietly, her tone carrying the exasperation of someone trying to finish a puzzle while surrounded by clowns. “Uh… Yeah you were busy talking with me. You read my hand I think..” Ryo said with a cracking voice. "Wow, you’re right! I wanted to say that you really were some type of a problem child." Amara bluntly pointed out. The two men who were sitting beside Ryo started to snicker at that comment and Ryo could only be ashamed of his past self. And the last person who was sitting on the right finally decided to break the laughter and introduce himself. "I am Kane, martial art god Kane. I come from a wealthy family, and I am just here to support your bank so you guys don't have any marks anymore. Because I surely know none of you could afford a house for at least two people now do you guys?" There was an awkward silence in the room when they heard that sentence. "See and that's what I thought but truly it's a pleasure to meet you again your highness." 'Again? When was the first time we even met???' Amara could only reply with thank you and looked at Alijah afterwards. "So, what am I supposed to do now?" Amara asked softly. "Choose who you would like to have around you while you're wandering around the human realm!" She excitedly said. "Can I choose none of them?" "No." "Can I choose all of them?" "What." Alijah was quite stunned back at what Amara just requested of her. "I am not sure I am allowed to do that for you Mimi...-" Amara looked at her and sighed, "Then make it happen or I'll just run away." She said while shrugging her arms and Ryo and Mo Yue sitting in front of her just looked at her with pure shock.  Why would anyone just say what they would do before doing it? Isn't that just... Dumb? Kane just looked at Amara and asked, "Why would you say something like that, are you dumb or just playing dumb?" Amara ignored the comment and asked the question again. "Can I choose all of them? It's a simple yes or no question, do not think too long about it." Alijah just stared at Amara with a feeling she hasn't felt in a long time, it felt like Amara was going to choke her if she doesn't get the answer, she wants to hear out of her until she finally says yes. Alijah could only avert her eyes to the side and say yes with a sweat falling from her face. "I'll look into it with his highness but please wait until he answers the request you asked before going to the human realm." Alijah could only stand up quickly, make a bow and teleport away as soon as possible due to the thick tension between the both of them. Amara could only look at gold glitter being left behind after the teleportation trick and looked at the three men face to face and asked them a question that was very confusing to ask. "Wanna go to the human realm?" Amara said with a smile on her trying to lure them I into her charms and making them do whatever she wants to. "Is our answer even going to be fair if we have no control?" Mo Yue said with a big sigh after looking deep down at the ground. Amara could only laugh at him. "If you saw through me so quickly, wouldn't you help your poor comrades besides you, or.... is it that... you have no interest in seeing them as your friends or comrades at all?" Amara questioned him. "I would rather have them controlled than myself, okay? And then again... I am pretty sure you need at least one person who is able to help you through the gate naturally now don't you?" He quickly. "Be honest you-, master, what do you need so badly from the human world that makes you keep going back there for more than a couple melinia’s?" Amara could only shut him down with a shut up. "That's none of your business you shouldn't start digging dirt where your paws belong, understood?" Mo Yue could only stare at Amara in disbelief and nodded at her without a real second thought of his own. "Good to hear you understood, now please get me out of here!" Amara groaned and snapped her fingers so she could stop controlling the two others leaving them confused. Mo Yue just looked at Amara before slowly getting the formation ready, while he was doing that Amara looked at Kane and Ryo dumbfounded faces and told them about a sweet little lie from the top of her tongue. They still didn't understand what she told them, but they just went with it and believed her and before Ryo could open his mouth Mo Yue suddenly said; "Done! I am finally done!" They all came to look at his formation just to... uhm... Laugh at it. "WHY ARE YOU ALL LAUGHING???" Mo Yue blurted out while Amara quickly covered her ears. "Why does your formation look so sloppy? It reminds me of the times when we were still learning how to make formations!" Ryo said out laughing. "SHUT UP SHUT UP AND SHUT UP JUST GO STAND ON IT!" Mo Yue embarrassedly said and hid his face with tiny tears in the corners in his eyes. All of them stand on the horrible formation made by Mo Yue when the last person got into the formation got bigger and it was shining light but before it sent them away to the human realm Alijah came in teleported. “Your highness his highness accepted-” Before she completely finished her sentence she stopped and looked up at them standing at the portal. “NO NO NO YOUR HIGHNESS WAIT FOR-” And then… poof, they were gone, leaving Alijah behind without even letting her finish her last words. They teleported into a room that was made for four people at least so they got them to leave the room one by one all of them got out without saying something but when they got out Mo Yue, Ryo, and Kane noticed they were at a random house that wasn’t theirs to stay at and that the people in the house just gave them quick stares and looked away with worried mumbles. Amara could only keep it calm and act like she hasn’t heard a single word coming out of their mouths. The three men could only hurry up their walks and faster only then Amara could hear Alijah reach out to her. “Amara… Can you hear me Amara…?” “Oh hey Alijah how have you been?” Amara said in response while standing somewhere near a house and stopping three other guys. “Amara YOU ARE in big trouble and there IS big trouble.” Amara could only sigh. “Okay first tell the second trouble…” Alijah could only stand straight and look around and waited before answering her request. “Okay so I just found out where you guys are located at, and I found out there is this creature stirring up trouble near you guys…” Amara wasn’t really that surprised at hearing that. “And Amara since you left his highness is quite upset because he wanted to talk to you first.” “That’s exactly why I left.”
