"I guess this is it for me," the man rasped. "And I don't regret dying now. It's a Slayer's duty to protect the civilians. Now please, make a run for it." The man handed his broken sword to Sey.
"No, I'm not running away," Sey said with determination. "I can't leave you here, If I run away now, I'll regret it for as long as I live."
"Don't worry, I've already contacted the Slayer Association. They'll be here soon. I just need to buy them time for them to arrive."
[Horizon Guild - Zenith City]
"Master, This is an emergency!"
"Come in."
"Excuse me, Master, there's been a dungeon break."
[Valor Aegis - Horizon Guild Member]
"What? Another one already?"
"Yes, Master, in the middle of the city, at the newly inaugurated Spark Tower."
"In the middle of the city, you say? What about the Association?"
"Some of them are busy with the recent dungeon breaks investigation. As for the others, they're busy at the Awakening Center."
"Skylar should be around the area. He went to meet his younger brother. Contact him. He should be enough to handle the situation."
[Vance Ashcroft - Guildleader of the Horizon]
This monster's unlike anything I've ever seen. It's some kind of werewolf creature with razor-sharp claws. Gotta watch out for those! It's also fast, decently fast. How am I supposed to fight this thing?
Damn it. This isn't my style at all, fight first, think next. Maybe I should have paid more attention in those self-defense classes.
"Take this, you overgrown mutt!" Sey roared. He swung the broken sword, a shard catching the sunlight, but it bounced harmlessly off the Blood Howler's thick hide.
The beast lashed out, a fetid breeze preceding its razor-sharp claws. Sey ducked, rolling away just as the claws ripped through the air where his head had been.
The creature neared the injured Slayer.
"Think fast, Sey! Hey, furball!" he yelled, sending the broken sword in his hand flying at the beast. It pierced its back. The beast growled in agony.
The beast howled in fury, momentarily distracted. Sey lunged forward, aiming for the beast's exposed underbelly. With a shard of the broken sword, the shard connected with a sickening squelch, but it wasn't enough.
Enraged, the beast swiped at Sey, sending him flying. He hit a wall, his vision blurring at the edges. Spots danced before his eyes as he tasted blood.
"Not done yet," he rasped, forcing himself up. He needed a plan, and fast. I need to get it somewhere, otherwise, we'll be doomed.
Suddenly, sey felt a spark inside his head, a translucent screen popped up in front of him:
