“aloha amigo” jessie signed. “gurl wtf do you mean ‘aloha amigo’, we’re in australia?” signed august straight back. They both laughed, but jessies was more croaky, louader, and it sounded very diffrent, but August didnt pay any mind to it since  jessie couldnt hear what she sounded like. It was a cold day and the rest of the group was somehow away, leaving the two sitting on a bench huddled up, with one woolly jumper over both their shoulders, keeping them warm. They were reading Alice Oseman’s ‘loveless’. they were really into it, until a boy who looked no more than 12, ran past them and yelled, ‘GAY FURRIES!’ August looked up, causing Jessie to look up aswell. August burst into laughter, happy tears forming in her eyes. Jessie tilted her head and signed, “whats happening?”. August was barely able to as much as shakily and hardly understandably sign, “h- he-he called us gay furries” August watched as the cogs in Jessies head clicked, figuring out what she said. In no time, Jessie was down next to August laughing her head off.
