The Iwnoqlewh are both fascinated, confused, and sometimes slightly disturbed by some of Earth's wildlife. It can sometimes be kind of uncanny to see a creature that looks a bit like you, but Tanwi (Tahn-vi), the disabled, maneless Kimaj'jwd, definitely can appreciate Earth's lionesses. Manes are a big part of gender expression for them, while manelessness is a result of a somewhat rare genetic disorder, so seeing that a different species that either has manes or /no manes at all/ helps her feel a little more secure. Also, we'll definitely be seeing more of her and her best friend in the future.
As for the rest of the trip, in order:
- Iwnoqlewh are most like marsupials in terms of reproduction and young rearing, (but unlike everything else in their universe, the Iwnoqlewh need 3 at minimum to procreate)
- The smallest Iwnoqlewh subspecies is based off the Arctic Fox, while that interaction with the Fennec Fox is actually based off of something that happened to me at the Bronx Zoo
- Recently found by accident that Genets are probably the closest physically to the arboreal Iwnoqlewh
- Giraffes would FREAK THEM OUT, they're absolute giants, and the little aliens actually have 2 tongues that also have a big part in nonverbal communication. One that's like a hummingbird's which can be used for greeting or flirting, and one like ours that can be used for disdain or saying "go away"
- And the cheetah... Will be explained in the next page ;>
This series is a collection of individual stories set either on Earth, somewhere else in the universe, or in the world of the Iwnoqlewh, the smallest race of aliens in an intergalactic alliance and the newest members, alongside the human race. Follow alongside these little aliens as they learn about themselves, their home, Earth, their human friends, and vice versa.
