POV: Kayda
“What’s the name of the girl with blond hair?” Izar asked
“Where did that come from?” I asked, curious at his unexpected question
“Why? I shouldn't know about your friends?” Izar countered
“Hmmmmm. Reasonable enough.”
“Her name is Ayami” I replied after a pause
I remained silent for around five minutes waiting for him to ask about Emily.
He didn’t.
I smirked at the pleasant opportunity that I just got to tease him.
“So, you are interested in her.” I broke the silence
“Why? Was it that obvious” he said
“Oh” I blinked trying to wrap my head around the fact that he didn’t protest against my statement and just agreed with it.
“She feels familiar" Izar continued
“Weird” I mumbled
“Why?”
“I felt it too”
Izar was my brother's closest friend. He lived most of his life in eastern country of Luan. He used to come visit us every now and then but only recently did he move here in Celestia, after he took control of his company headquarter here. So, there is no way that he could have met her.
I thought maybe Ayami and I studied in middle school or kindergarten but if Izar feels it too, then there is no way of knowing her from my past school, Unless she came to my house when Izar was there but I don’t remember bringing friends to my home.
“What are you so deep in thought of? We're here” Izar said as he got out of the car.
I followed him to the entrance of Hotel LUNA,
“ah”
One of the hotels owned by the Rowan cooperation, good business partners with Alaric, but bad family friends. Both sides grandparents hold some kind of generational grudges although the next generations didnt bother about it.
The sky was turning dark as the sun has already gone down the horizon.
“Oh, so this was the reason.” I complained as i walked into the reception area, as much as I hate to say it their architecture was absolutely mind blowing, to not be impressed. I’ve already visited the other hotel called SOL, its design inspired by sun and this one by moon.
Magic can be used in many ways in our world one of its examples is these range of hotels under Rowan cooperation.
They both were mix of gothic architecture and modern architecture incorporated with magic but SOL was way brighter. This is the first time I am visiting LUNA and it looks dull compared to SOL however LUNA is famous for nightly visits as its magic is said to be unveiled once moonlight starts to caress its walls.
The big halls were dimly lit.
The walls were painted with silvery white incorporated with magic, in a way that it would sparkle in the faintest of moonlight. It was starting to get dark outside so I was able to feel the breathtaking effect of the magic here.
I wanted to stay forever and experience how the slow creeping in of moonlight through the long-arched windows will differentiate it from the plain dull white aesthetic it holds without moonlight.
“Come on” Izar called
I hesitantly followed him to the stairs that led to a small door, guarded by two men towards the extreme side of the hall, away from the view of the people at the entrance. The men said something inaudible through the earpiece and the door opened revealing a lift.
Modern technologies in a gothic architecture for the use of VIP’s only, impressive.
We got out of the lift to what looks like the topmost floor. We walked for so long, but it only seemed like the middle of the entire building.
The structure seemed different than other floors. This was much more spacious and emptier than the ground floor.
Izar stopped at a door two times his height with silver roses in the handles and some creeping into the blood red paint of the door and disappearing into its midst. It was guarded by 3 men in black suits.
One of the guards took a step but immediately moved back after another man in his late 30's stopped him. He gestured the other to open the door and followed us inside to what looks like a living room.
Right after I stepped into the room, I felt the rush of a new yet known scent, which didn’t fail to comfort me, the kind of comfort that would let down your guard. The ceilings were at two times my height,
The ceiling?
My eyes went wide as i gaped at the ceiling. It was glass. The transparent ceiling showed the vast sky as if it was like you were outside.
I stared at it mesmerized by the stars …
