My name is Sara Dacre.
When I woke up, I saw my whole family in tears. My brother Harry jumped on to the bed and gave me a hug, while my mother weeped as she tightly held my hand.
I found out later that I had been bedridden for a month! To me it felt like I had seen them just yesterday.
A bit later, they introduced me to a man from the church. I think…Ian, was his name. They told me I should be grateful to him, because he saved my life. I don’t know why, but he didn’t look too happy about it.
The next day, Harry tried to drag me out of bed to go play outside. I was so excited when he said we could have a tea party! But when my mom saw us, she told me I couldn’t go. She said I couldn’t even get out of bed! When I asked why, she said I was too weak to.
I wanted to ask her more questions, but she looked so sad I couldn’t. But I was really curious.
Afterall, I’ve never felt this good in my life! My whole body was restless from this strange energy ready to burst out. I felt like I could run miles without getting tired.
After about a week of being a good child and listening to my mom, I just couldn’t take it anymore.
I snuck out of the house with Harry, while carrying big bags filled with snacks and tea.
Once we made it outside, we lied down on a blanket as we snacked, read books, and Harry told me stories. My favorite one was about a brave and strong mage who traveled the world with his partner while saving those in need.
“Mr. Mage, save me! I’ve been taken away by an evil dragon!”
I got up and ran around the grass, as Harry chased after me.
“Don’t worry, I’ll save you princess!”
As we continued to play pretend, I could hear a voice from afar.
“Sara!!”
My mother came running towards me, and hugged me. She was crying over my shoulders.
“H- How are you moving? Is this a dream?”
“I’m fine! I’m not weak, mom!”
“That’s right, Sara’s not weak!”
A few days after, Ian came to our home again. I could hear my mom talking to him in a room.
“Sara, she- she’s completely healed! Not only can she walk, but she can run for hours! Please tell me, has the goddess blessed us with a miracle? If so… I am ready to devote the rest of my life to the church."
“Ma’am… there’s no way I wouldn't have felt a divine blessing.”
“But that’s the only explanation! What other-“
And that was all I heard, until I got caught eavesdropping by my dad.
As Ian left our home that night, my mother said something strange to him.
“If you see him… please, please tell him I’d like to meet him again.”
I wonder who she was talking about.
Later that night, I laid in bed with a million questions in my head while Harry was next to me, peacefully asleep.
“Mr. Mage….”
I slowly closed my eyes as I listened to Harry mumble.
That night in my dreams, Mr. Mage and his partner saved me from an evil dragon.
‘Thank you Mr. Mage….and thank you Faye.'
