Assassin became bold because of this smoke, a bullet went through the smoke straight to Julian's chest, but before it could harm him, the sword cut through the bullet, and he saw clearly that five or six men were running toward him. The human body was too fragile to face any weapon, they thought it would be easy to catch Julian, but the fact is, he moved like a ghost, no one could anticipate what his next step would be where, and his sword was even more dangerous than their guns, technically, no one believes a sword can beat gun so easily, but Julian did.
Maybe the blood splashed on his sword, assassins thought they could see a red light covering the sword. One of the assassins shouted at his companions, "Take down the fox man, it doesn't matter if you kill him or not, we have to capture his master!"
Julian wiped the blood off his sword with his sleeve, smelling the fishy odor on his clothes made his brow furrow in displeasure, not to mention the disrespectful tone in which those people refer to Suraa. Julian was never good at holding his temper in the first place, and it was time for him to end this stupid scenario, his sword instantly cut off the speaker's head.
"You're so croaky. How can you not honor my great master?? You should bow before mentioning him." Julian scoffed.
The moment that talking man was killed, several assassins turned into shaken chickens, and they took a step backward, Julian wouldn't let them run away that easy, it could reduce the fun, he rushed to catch up with the assassins who were trying to get away, sliced one and then the other one, he was focusing on them, suddenly a skinnier assassin threw a tiny bomb out of the bushes, it blows in a second, Julian jumped to that bomb's direction.
The skinny assassin was much more powerful than those useless batch of assassins he just killed, not only did she dodge Julian's sword, but she also set up quite a few small traps along the way, using small mines that had been started by visual interference to ambush every Julian's foot at every point where it might fall, several times Julian felt like his feet were going to be blown off.
The flagrant provocations fuelled Julian's instinct to kill the wanton as he adjusted the precision of each swing, from touching his opponent's clothes to cutting into her hair, the data in front of his eyes constantly adjesting, "Next time won't miss."
As Data had surmised, his blade landed with precision on the assassin in front of him, but Data hadn't predicted the sudden possibility of another assassin popping out of the bushes, he kicked Julian's waist hard, but Julian's sword still slashed a target, although the aim was slightly off, the man's shoulder was bleeding.
That female assassin hurriedly fled with her injured companion on her back, Julian covered his injured waist and hid in the woods, not bothering to chase them.
Meanwhile, the female assassin, who had darted out of the woods with her companion on her back, had been calling out her companion's name, "Elio! Damn it! Answer me!"
"Elio!!"
Maybe Rurika's voice was too noisy, Elio woke up from strong pain and replied weakly, "I'm...sorry...Am I too heavy?"
Elio became unconscious, he could feel that someone was carrying him, and his subconscious dared not to bring trouble to his superior, and he tried to move to get off Rurika's back.
"Don't you dare move, I'll throw you on the ground!" Rurika yelled at him, and what she was threatening was what Elio wanted to do.
"Issac is coming for us, hey, hang in there."
"Ouch!"
Rurika slapped Elio's face, her strong physical strength made Elio think his mind died on her palm. It hurt, but it warmed Elio's heart, perhaps it was the injury that had weakened Elio's mind, his shoulders and cheeks each ached in their own way, and yet Rurika who had not been kind to him at first, was caring for him, and he was so aggrieved that he could not help saying, "I want to work under your guidance..."
Rurika didn't say anything, she shouted at Elio and called him a 'stupid head', she has eyes, and everyone knows how Mio treats her mentee. Elio is a pity who has been played by fate or was played by stupid calculation.
"Nah, I don't want to babysit another one, I can't tolerate a stupid boy who put himself in the second spot," Rurika replied. She understood Elio might want to fight back, but she just telling the truth.
His first mission with Mio was a disaster.
"You did the most stupidest thing in the world again. Do you know why Mio never established any mentor-mentee relationship?" Rurika's voice became cold, Elio didn't have to ask, and he already knew he was pissing Rurika off again.
"You don't know, don't you? Well, you just saw the opening file that Nuée provided, hard to blame you for it. Mio, when she was younger, did the same thing as you do, rescuing objects that weren't on our mission. Nuée wasn't a charity organization, they need money, and we need money."
"What...did she do?"
"Haa...Mio might never talk to me again. Elio boy, keep quiet and listen. Mio had heroic thoughts like you, she always tried to save more people. You saw the record of Professor Edmund's death, but Nuée hid the details, Professor Edmund was doing a favor for Mio, back in that time, Mio was hurt but she still wanted to save a little girl. Sounds familiar right?" Rurika scoffed, her tone mixing sadness and anger, she kept saying, "You are lucky to be a one-time hero, Mio pushed her mentor into hell with her hands. If you were her, what would you do?"
"I...I don't know."
"People always judge on things they don't know. I understand Mio treats you harshly, she is not good at people, but I can swear she is kind, or maybe too kind. You saved me once, I won't say thank you, because you are doing a stupid thing. We were born to die, learn to put ourselves on the first spot, then try to be an agent."
"You tell me the truth, it's more than a thank you."
"Yep, I should drop you, stupid kid."
Elio's sincere attitude disgusts Rurika and she loosens her grip for a moment, and when Elio thinks he's about to fall to the ground, she catches him again.
"What a beautiful friendship."
The sudden exclamation of Issac into the dialogue scared them. Turns out he'd been following them all the way in his car and he hadn't bothered to speak until just now, Rurika was so pissed off she kicked his car door, Issac laughed and begged helplessly, "Treat Elio first, then angry, okay?"
Issac drives them back to Goldberg's house, and Mio doesn't have time to make it to Rurika's room until she finishes her shift. The first moment she saw that Rurika was okay, Mio hugged Rurika as hard as she could.
