POV:Ayami
I went to the conservatory with Elena, she asked for help with replanting the plants in there.
She gave me a hose to water the plant base to make it loose while she dug some holes for the tulip bulbs.
I started with the red roses, they were beautiful, tempting to touch its velvety red petals, Like blood.
Blood, like what I saw in that dream
I was happy to get a good night’s sleep yesterday without those horrible dreams.
But this one is starting to bother me a bit too much. Every time I look at Kayda it’s the scene of her drenched in blood, crying on the floor full of dead bodies, that comes into my mind.
Did she kill all of them on the floor? Did she kill that person she was holding? Who was it? Why is this coming on my dream? Do I have something to do in it? Are these dreams trying to convey me something?
should I see a shaman?
“Dear, that’s too much water” Elena shrieked as she took the water hose from my hand.
I looked down at the blood red rose, its pot overflowing with water.
“Oh my god, I am so sorry Elena, I didn’t mean to do it” I apologized
“It’s alright dear. We could wait a few hours before replanting this one, by then the excess water would dry up. Mistakes happen.” she smiled
“Your mind seems to be preoccupied with something” she continued “why don’t you wake Kayda and join her for breakfast, you must be hungry”
I gave a nod and stepped out of the conservatory.
Should I tell Kayda about this?
No, she would probably be creeped out
I knocked on her door
“Kayda it’s me, Ayami. Have you woken up yet?” I called out
“Yeasss” she yelled
I heard the door unlock after a few seconds. She peeked out her head through the door, her hair wet.
“I was getting ready” she explained “why don’t you sit inside” she insisted as she opened her door.
I got in and she ran back to the bathroom holding the bathrobe for dear life. I let out a chuckle.
“You are free to roam around my room you know” She yelled from the bathroom
“You don’t have to scream you know I can hear you” I yelled back laughing along with her
Her room was similar to mine, the only differences was that her room was a mix of light blue and green, mine was peach.
I noticed the white table with a mirror on the corner of the room. It had a bunch of makeup products and photo frames on top of it. I reached out to one of the photos. It was Kayda and Kai, both with a wide smile. I took another photo beside it.
A similar photo but with grandmother and grandfather. I haven’t seen grandfather yet because of his work. In the photo, he looks 5 years older than her max. I wonder if there is any reason for them to look so young. They were both sitting on a sofa with a warm smile, Kayda and Kai behind them, both held a peace sign above grandma and grandpas head making them seem like horns. A smile unknowingly flashed across my own face.
I put the photo down and took another one.
The smile I had faded as my face grew pale. It was Kai, Kayda their mom, and dad, the same man I saw on the dream, the one Kayda held.
“Looking through the photos, eh?” I turned to see Kayda in a lilac-coloured midi dress, her hair up in a bun.
“Ah, you have never seen my parents.” she said as she looked at the photo in my hand.
“You would have identified my mother, since both of our moms look a lot like each other.” She continued “and the one beside me is my papa” “I swear you would love him once you get to know him, he is the nicest, supports all of our shenanigans” she smiled “they are both busy with work, they are waiting to meet you. You can see them tomorrow because of the ritual they are free from work.”
“Ayami, why are you… are you okay?” she said as she kept her hand near my shoulder. Her forehead wrinkled with concern.
