Drifting through the portal I saw blue and white flashes. The blue resembled this cold and empty feeling while the white flashes reminded me of my fathers color. I felt my body shoot down from the heavens, I wasn’t in my own mind anymore. Once I had reached the end of the portal tunnel I was practically thrown against a cold, dirty, rock hard wall. I was in some kind of mine shaft elevator. All I saw were weird, nasty bugs and brown stone and dirt walls, with water dripping from an unknown location up top. The elevator itself looked old and rusted. Like it’s been sitting here for hundreds of years with no one taking care of it. Cross shaped metal gates on all four walls. Flimsy aluminum plates, aged, bent, cracked and dented like someones been kicking and clawing their way out of here. A lonely skull laying in the corner acted as a nest for a cobweb. The air around me was so wet. The elevator started to aggressively shake like a behemoth’s sitting outside, cradling the lift. I couldn’t hold my balance and fell over and landed in a puddle of water near the skull. The shaking suddenly stopped and I tried to get up but the elevator went up, amazingly quickly, and I almost fell over again, this time I held myself together and looked around. I felt like I was falling upside down, forever. My feet slowly raised from the floor and I started floating, so did everything else. Spiders flew out of the skull's cracked left eye, the puddle rose in these little water droplets. Even the aluminum walls decided to break off and fly. The waterfalls on the rock walls became stronger and darker, like the entire cave was flooding. It made no sense but the water just kept flowing and eventually it flooded everything below me. The elevator was submerged in water now and the walls became wider and wider until I couldn’t even see them anymore. After a considerable time the lift got out of the water and came to a sudden halt. Everything around me, including myself, almost smashed through the ceiling. After I processed what had just happened and got up back on my feet I noticed a tiny, tiny island, In a practically endless ocean. Without anywhere else to go, I stepped on the small island. The elevator descended back into the water as quickly as it rose from it.
The moon was blue, everything was blue. A dark blue ocean surrounded my little island. I looked around in every direction, nothing. Just the ocean blue, a clear indigo sky and the moon, towering over everything around me, blue again, just like the sky and sea but the moon was this bright blue, this arctic blue. I spread out my wings and bent my knees ready to fly, ready to find something else, at least try. At first I was flying high and slow, carefully watching the calm water, just in case I found more land, just didn’t notice it yet. I sped up faster and faster, higher and higher. Nothing, nothing for as far as the eye can see. Nothing, nothing at all. I thought maybe, maybe if I fly higher, as high as space, maybe I’ll see something. At some point I have to see something. No matter how high I flew, the sky would never change. No matter how fast I flew, I couldn’t feel the wind blasting on my face. The moon never came any closer. Sure, the land went further away but everything else stayed still, like I could fly for decades, like I could fly forever. With nowhere else to go I closed my wings, pulling them close to my back. I started falling toward the water as fast as I could, like a rocket coming back to earth, coming back to the ocean. The view from above was incredible and it all felt so surreal. Still I couldn’t feel any wind. I didn’t feel like I was falling, it felt like sleeping. I began to hear the sea slash around, hitting itself again and again and again. I closed my eyes. For a fraction of a millisecond I heard the impact on the water from my fall. I slowed down almost immediately as my eyes opened. I saw the splash from my body above the water. Looking down, city lights shined from down below, so I started swimming towards the lights. After a couple seconds of swimming down the water suddenly stopped. The ocean just ended right then and there. I fell through the water and saw this storm over the city. The ocean acted as a forever long rain cloud, smothering everything below it in water.
