Natsuhiko: Maybe, just for this episode, we can call it The Weekend Podcast?

Etsuko: But what’s the point if it’s just for today?

Natsuhiko: Well, I don’t want us to start the bonus episode off arguing..

Hotaru: So, right now, instead of recording in the empty classroom we’d gotten permission to use…

Natsuhiko: We convinced the teachers it was for club activities. Which, in a way, it kind of was. We’re The After-School Podcast Club!

Etsuko: Oh my gosh, Hotaru, your room is a MESS.

Hotaru: We’re recording in my room!

Etsuko: *exasperated* You told me you cleaned it before we came over! The room is a mess! How can we record in here?

Hotaru: Well, y’know, compared to how it is, this is clean.

*Etsuko lets out a frustrated sigh*

Etsuko: I’m gonna freshen this room up. First, let's start by opening the curtains…

*Etsuko can be heard standing up, and the sound of curtains drawing open*

Hotaru: *hisses* Noooo the light!!!

Etsuko: What are you a vampire?

Natsuhiko: Okay, actually, that is a lot better. And oh…

*Natsuhiko realizes how messy Hotaru’s room really is*

Hotaru: *genuinely perplexed, and slightly embarrassed* What’s wrong with my room?

Etsuko: Are you kidding me right now? It’s messy as fri--

Natsuhiko: We should probably keep the cursing to a minimum.

Etsuko: Good point. It’s as messy as a pile of dirty socks, and speaking of which, I see a pile over there.

Hotaru: *finally having enough* STOP CRITICIZING MY ROOM WHILE WE’RE LIVE!!

Natsuhiko: Sorry Hotaru. Let’s just get on with the bonus episode.

Etsuko: We didn’t really plan much of this so… what are we doing?

Natsuhiko: Well, what are some topics we haven’t quite talked about yet?

Etsuko: Uhhh… I don’t know..

Natsuhiko: Umm… *gets an idea* Wait! I’ve got it!

Etsuko and Hotaru: *eager to hear the idea* What is it?

Natsuhiko: Let's turn this into a cooking episode!

*silence*

Hotaru: I think it’s a great idea! Let's get to the kitchen!

*in the kitchen, there’s sounds of people tying up their aprons and washing their hands*

Etsuko: Natsuhiko… have you thought this through--

Hotaru: Welcome everyone! To The After School Podcast’s special bonus cooking episode!

Natsuhiko: What should we make today?

Hotaru: Oh I know! Let's make rice!

Etsuko: Is that your favorite food?

Hotaru: You bet! Oh! Let's make it fried too!

Etsuko: Fried? Alright. Hotaru, you make the rice. I’ll get the vegetables and soy sauce, Natsuhiko can make the eggs and then throw it all together.

Natsuhiko: Alright!

Hotaru: Wait a minute! Why can’t I throw it all together?

Etsuko: *with a sigh* Fine, you can throw it all together.

Hotaru: Yes!

*sounds of chopping vegetables, boiling water*

Hotaru: I’m good at cracking eggs!

Etsuko: Don’t get so cocky.

*there’s the sound of an egg hitting the ground*

Etsuko: Hotaru!

Hotaru: *in the distance* I’m getting a broom!

Etsuko: The yolk will just stick to the broom! Use your hands!

Hotaru: I am not using my hands! That’s gross!

Etsuko: Just wash your hands after!

Natsuhiko: Um.. guys?

Etsuko and Hotaru: What?

Natsuhiko: *nervously* The rice is boiling over… what do I do?

Etsuko: Daaarnit. Turn the heat down. *scrambling over to turn it down*

Hotaru: Oooh, Etsuko was gonna swear!

Etsuko: Was not!

Natsuhiko: Guys!

*all turn their heads*

Natsuhiko: *frustrated* Clean up the eggs! One of you do it!

Hotaru: *whispering to Etsuko* Natsuhiko’s let out his inner chef, hasn’t he?

*there’s a tense silence as they cook. Finally, it’s time to throw it together*

Etsuko: Alright Hotaru, it’s time for you to throw it all together!

Hotaru: Alright! I can do this! Why don’t you guys get the plates so we can be ready to dish up!

*Natsuhiko and Etsuko get plates and spoons from the cupboards. Hotaru seems to be doing well until….*

Hotaru: *screaming* HELP! HELP! IT’S ON FIRE!

Etsuko: HOTARU! WHAT DID I TELL YOU!?

Hotaru: I DIDN’T KNOW IT COULD BURN SO EASILY!

Etsuko: ONLY AN IDIOT COULD BURN FRIED RICE! WHAT THE HECK WERE YOU DOING!?

Natsuhiko: GUYS! PUT IT OUT!

Hotaru: *Getting water from the faucet from a cup* I’ll save us!

Natsuhiko: Hotaru no!

Hotaru: *stops just before he splashes it on* What?

Etsuko: Are you stupid? You don’t throw water on electrical fires!

Hotaru: Are you stupid? This isn’t an electrical fire! It’s a food fire!

Etsuko: But it’s on an electric stove!

Natsuhiko: *puts a lid on the wok* Guys! Stop fighting!

*there’s sounds of burnt fried rice being put on plates*

Etsuko: This is not edible.

Hotaru: *eating it* It’s not that bad.

Etsuko: Don’t eat that! You’ll get sick!

Hotaru: How? It’s just burnt food.

Etsuko: *Sighs* Shall we close out?

Natsuhiko: Yeah. We should. Hotaru, ready to start?

Hotaru: *with his mouth full* In a minute! Let me finish this!

Etsuko: *taking it away* No, now!
