Finally someone special of the locals visited me. The gremlins grew anxious when "kutuhta", as they call her, showed up on the far hills. Grabbed some stalks of wormwood, waved it around as if they are guiding a plane to land, whistling in their own tone too.
Small, dry, grunting old woman in a mask and with an everything-dress: fur, pieces of cloth, grass and coins. Brought a tambourine and some rattles, dancing and whistling, a band of one.
The shaman did not talk to me, only circled the car, touched everything and kept grunting. Didn't even look at the necklace I offered, just sat on her ugly goat and rode for the steppes.
