I was supposed to mention this earlier, but Belliana (the pink reincarnator from the flashback sequence with Zoe) is loosely inspired by the isekai'd MC from "I'm All Out of Health" Yes, she owned a slave. And yes, she gave a speech about how "greedy" her abused maid relative was.
SPOILERS for "I'm All out of Health"
Avril (maid cousin of MC) was ordered to poison MC by her abusive relatives, she carried it around her and the MC's "doting father" put a collar on her after finding out like she was an animal. When she was found out by MC, she asked for mercy because she had no choice, and the MC threw her out on the streets. She was drawn like a child, looking no older than twelve (but I think she is about 15?).
Still, it was rich we got a lecture of morality from a slave owning MC who talks about whose "greedy" when she is pampered like a princess by her doting father, while her relative is treated like garbage by her relatives.
Of course, it's justified by the story as Avril simply being too "greedy" to not want to be abused.
I have sooo many feelings over Prosperity Theology existing in this universe.
Speaking of slaves, have we seen any transmigrators/isekais use the classic "I must keep my slaves enslaved to protect them from being kidnapped and reenslaved by someone else" excuse yet? I cannot remember.
I especially "like" it when the story's universe does not have slave races (Solomon Northup's story unfortunately makes this a plausible excuse in such a case), but even when it does they usually screw up the argument by overreaching into suggesting chattel is better protected from threats to life or even general abuse than an employee.
And they never STOP treating said slaves as slaves anyway.
Anyone who raises their hand to a maid will feel Bridgette's wrath!
Bridgette is a young woman who has been Isekai'd 10 times as a maid, and she has had enough of Otome protagonists abusing their power, slapping maids, and using them as pawns to do their dirty work.
Her solution? Form a union, protect her coworkers, and bring the worst house down! The only people who should be "put in their place" are those who raise their hands to their employees!
