There are so many COOL things about this first episode...the opening of the train conveys speed, urgency (bit of humor: just below the kanji characters on the front of the train we have the english spray painted translation), and the first line suggests a history and context for everything--the train is the last stronghold of the Catopian empire...the only cat pun i could find is here at the beginning where the main character Aria says, "tickets PAW-LEASE" (hee-hee)...the invitation to tea could be seen as inviting friends to calm down (and to us as readers to take a break and have some tea)--love the cat face on the tea cup-nice touch...Timothy Tiger the engineer is introduced kicking back at a console which has obvious warning signs that he doesn't see ("power unstable, and the dial at nearly "too hot")...entering the dark forest foreshadows the darkness to come (literal and the upcoming fight scene in episode 2)...Timothy asks Aria to check out the scream in the back car and she replies by turning toward the reader in the last panel and simply says, "On it"--this might be my favorite image of her, serious, determined, coat high and flowing, armed with the electric sword...she means business! and this leaves us wondering, what will happen next, an ideal transition to episode 2...all of these details make for an engaging story--appreciate your work, time, and energy in making this.
