Precious Daughter of the Greatest Martial Arts Villain
Chapter 3
I was so startled that I stiffened in shock. Did this woman just pinch me?
I looked up at her in disbelief when my side prickled again—even stronger than before this time.
“Waaah!”
She made a sad face as she wiped my tears away.
“Look at how she’s wailing. She must have missed me terribly. I’m sorry, my baby. I haven’t been feeling well, so I stayed away in case it might affect you negatively. I missed you so much too.”
That’s rubbish and you know it! Lady, I’m crying because you pinched me twice!
She’d probably left a bruise with those freaky-long nails pinching my soft skin.
I was still in disbelief, tears still streaming down my face, when ridiculously enough, the woman started to loosen the front of her dress. Then she put her breast in my face.
Eww! Is this lady crazy? Get your boob out of my face!
I turned my head back and forth to refuse.
Ack!
Her lump of boob pushed into my mouth, blocking my airway.
I shuddered all over, feeling nauseous, but more importantly, I couldn’t breathe.
“Aww, look at how well you’re drinking my milk. My daughter, you missed your mother’s milk, didn’t you? I’ve been wanting to feed you too.”
She had the nerve to say that even as she watched me struggle to breathe.
Since she had turned her back to both Seoryeong and Cheon Ma, neither of them noticed what was happening.
The woman turned her face toward Cheon Ma and blushed as she said, “Oh, Sect Leader... I feel very bashful with you here. You should leave the room in these situations.”
Cheon Ma didn’t seem to notice the situation escalating, and indeed left the room.
Once the door closed, the woman, who had remained still for a while, practically tossed me over to Seoryeong, which was when she noticed how blue my face had gotten.
“M-miss?! Miss, what’s wrong?!”
“Quiet down.”
“My lady, Miss Lihwa is—”
“What about her? She looks fine. She won’t die from that, so stop making a fuss and bring me a handkerchief. I need to wipe myself. Ugh, look at this saliva. How gross.”
Seoryeong was frozen in shock, not responding.
“What are you waiting for? Do I need to repeat myself?”
“I’ll get you a handkerchief right away, my lady.”
Seoryeong bit her lip. I could feel her arms trembling as she held me, but she was helpless to do anything.
She was a perceptive person, so she instinctively knew that I’d be in even more danger if she tried to argue. “Here you go, my lady.”
After snatching the handkerchief out of her hand, the woman started wiping her breast in irritation.
“The Sect Leader... does he really come by daily?”
“Yes, that’s correct.”
“So, he really comes here every day just to see the baby?”
“Yes...”
“Oh, then I’d better come every day as well. I thought she was going to be worthless to me when I gave birth to her, but I guess she isn’t completely useless.”
Seoryeong’s face hardened almost pitifully. She had figured out why the woman had suddenly come to visit me. It was obvious she was trying to use me to improve her relationship with Cheon Ma.
The woman threw the handkerchief aside and sat next to my crib.
“Girl, put the child down and bring me the presents.”
“I’m sorry, but I don’t quite understand...”
“Are you really that stupid? I’m talking about the presents from all the Demonic Sect followers! Bring them all to me!”
“But those are Miss Lihwa’s gifts...”
“I heard she was even gifted nice elixirs. The child doesn’t know any martial arts, so what good will they do her?! It’s better if I drink them and improve my internal qi. This is all for the good of our Demonic Sect, you know.”
So you’re going to try and use me to get into Cheon Ma’s good graces?
I couldn’t even muster up a laugh. How could Cheon Ma have made love with that woman to birth a child?
Seoryeong, who was looking desolate, ordered the servants to bring in the gifts.
It took several trips to move all the gifts I had received into my room.
The woman sat down and began to open them one by one, humming a tune like she was having a grand time.
After taking a moment to observe her, Seoryeong checked my diaper.
“Miss Lihwa, it’s time to change you.”
I guess I had peed earlier when that woman tried to suffocate me.
“Hey! That’s going to stink up the room! Go outside and change it!”
“The servants will find that strange. My lady, are you sure that’s what you’d like me to do?”
“Gah, then go do it by the window!”
I had to get my diaper changed right by the window. Though it was spring, the wind coming through the window was chilly.
When I shivered, Seoryeong’s hands began to move faster.
“Miss, just hold on for a little while longer. I’ll quickly—Huh? Wh-what’s this? How did this happen? Did someone pinch—!”
Seoryeong looked grave, having discovered the bruise on my side while changing my diaper. Realizing something, she asked with her lips trembling with concern, “My lady... did you pinch... Miss Lihwa’s side... right here?”
She glanced at me briefly, in the middle of putting rings on all ten fingers.
“Oh, that? Well, she wasn’t listening to me earlier.”
“What could Miss Lihwa have done for you to do this?!”
“Did you just scold me? When you’re nothing but a nanny?”
“I may not be anything, but Miss Lihwa is the Sect Leader’s daughter! I will not let this slide!”
Even after hearing Seoryeong’s threat, the woman just shrugged nonchalantly.
“Do whatever you want. I’ll just tell everyone that it was really you.”
“What?”
“Do you think people will take the nanny’s words over the word of Bing Eunseol, the daughter of the North Sea Lord?”
That was when I realized my parents were in an arranged marriage.
Out of all the martial arts schools, the North Sea Ice Palace was the one school that was on good terms with the Demonic Sect. Well, to be more precise, it was more that they were indifferent toward one another because they were so far apart.
I remembered wondering how they had gotten together as I was reading, but I guess it was because of the arranged marriage.
So that was how an emotionless man like Cheon Ma had ended up with a daughter. He must have done it for the sake of his sect.
Why did he have to get married to a woman like her though? I felt bad for him.
Though of course, out of everyone here, I felt bad for myself the most.
At least a wedded couple could get divorced. It wasn’t like I could swap out my parents!
“I don’t mind this at all. Run along and tattle. I’ll just have you replaced.”
With the rings on her fingers, Bing Eunseol fixed her hair as she stared at Seoryeong.
Up until now, she had just seemed like a typical greedy woman, but as her expression chilled, she seemed like a completely different person.
“If you don’t have the courage to speak up, then get down on your knees. I could end your life right here and no one would even bat an eye. If anyone even bothers to ask why I killed you, I could just say I had to since you killed the girl.”
Seoryeong hastily tightened her grip on me, wanting to protect me from her.
“It was better when I was pregnant. He would come see me often then.”
Her low, ominous tone sent shivers down my spine.
“What do you think? If she were to disappear, do you think he’d come visit me more often, like he once did?”
There was a strange gleam in her eye. The woman was clearly mad, but I could see that her mind was still sharp, since she’d immediately recognized that I was Seoryeong’s weakness and was using me to threaten her.
In this brief encounter, she was able to figure out that she couldn’t break Seoryeong by making threats on her own life.
Seoryeong gulped hard and then slowly knelt before the woman while holding onto me tightly.
“P-please forgive me! I dared to question the lady of the house. If you could please forgive me just this once, I swear to serve you faithfully.”
“I see you aren’t completely daft. Very well. Have these elixirs sent to my room. You understand that all of this will need to be cleaned up before the Sect Leader comes back, right?”
“Yes...”
The woman gracefully got up and walked over to the door.
“Don’t forget to put some healing balm on the child’s side. Servant girl, you shouldn’t take a hand to her even if she refuses to listen. I’ll let it go just this once. Don’t let it happen again, all right?”
She opened the door to leave. The servants, who had been standing outside, quickly lowered their heads.
They must have overheard her say that it was Seoryeong who hurt me.
Wow...
I couldn’t help but marvel at her meticulousness in twisting everything in her favor, right down to the very last detail.
As soon as Bing Eunseol left, Seoryeong immediately undressed me to apply the healing balm.
“I’m sorry, miss... I’m so sorry...”
Her hot tears fell onto my face.
I reached out and gently touched Seoryeong’s cheek. Her sobbing got even louder.
“If only I were stronger... if I was just a little stronger, this wouldn’t have happened to you, miss. This is my fault. This is all my fault.”
As I listened to her blame herself, I gritted my teeth—or rather, my gums, since my teeth hadn’t come in yet.
